Branches with one or three leaves?

This is my first grow and my plants are about to go to flowering....they are good size. I've noticed that a few of the plants have only 3 leaves per branch (big fan leaves), and some have only about 1 per branch...also big leaves.

Is this normal for this stage? should I be concerned at all?

How old are the plants? How tall are they? Where's a link to your journal? Pics always help.

I would guess they're about a month or so old, but not sure (should have started a journal from the start). And they are about a foot tall....getting big for indoor, definitely ready for flowering.

I'll get some pics asap....don't have a camera ATM, but my brother took a pic yesterday.
