Brain Tumor Patient- RSO/High CBD strains info

Hi there everyone. So here's the deal. I'm a patient and grower here in pdx, I just went about 2 weeks ago and gave my excess meds to my local dispensary. About a week after that I was contacted by a man I knew 15 years ago in highschool. He lives in upstate NY, he is 32 years old (wife and 2 kids) and he has a growing brain tumor. It's not treatable with chemo/radiation and can't be removed surgically withought likely killing or paralyzing him. So basically, he is out of options. Someone told him I'm a grower in Oregon, and now I have offered to help. My wife and I have an extra room he can stay in, he has an appointment with the Aurora clinic already (FYI any Portland patients please use this clinic if you are looking, they are wonderful and generous and are helping him at a discounted rate due to his situation, and travelling expense)

What his doctor is recommending is a high CBD oil treatment, aka RSO. I'm about a month and half away from my next harvest, and have set aside a few ounces of bud for him. He will be arriving here the first week of January, so pain wise I can keep him covered until I can harvest and make a batch of RSO for him.


I would love something that had a fair amount of both, as I am a strong believer that the THC and CBD are helping each-other to interact in our bodies. Try as I might all the dispensaries I've tried so far seem to just have high THC clones for sale (no shock, but a bummer). I've had little to no success in the hunt for a good strain and a clone or two.

Have you checked into Hempmeds? Their concentrated CBD oil is made from the hemp plant, so your friend in NY can buy it himself right now.

You could probably try dispensaries for clones, they should know their strains. They might even have some oil to get him started until you make yours...

I think its great you are trying to help some one out. CBD Skunkhaze is a good CBD strain. Google singleseedcentre and search for it, sure you will find it.

I've heard of hempmeds, and it is very interesting..I'm not sure though. From what I have looked into there is still some debate as to whether CBD from hemp is as effective, I just don't know? I know that people have had ridiculously amazing results with RSO, so with his condition and the severity of it, I like (and he and his doctor like ) the idea of something that has such a fantastic track record. He is also in a severe amount of pain as well, so having the THC and CBD still seems best. I'm not a doctor, I'm just going with what treatment he and his doc feel good about. Anybody know if norml is still having those monthly meetings? They used to have a bunch of clones available at those meetings.
And I know momas still have their monthly cloning class. You could sit in and maybe get some clones or at least network with some growers and patients to find a strain that will work for you.
Also you might check with green leaf labs in Portland they have been testing a lot of strains lately. Not sure what info they can give out but they might be able to help.

There is a dispensary near me that carries TGA strains, I am definitely going to see if they have Pennywise seeds right now. Thanks for the suggestion oldschool. Great info Hillybilly, those are good thoughts. I used the mama's cloning class years ago when I first go my card to get my grow going. I will check in with the Labs as well. I've been looking through the dispensaries for clones still with no real luck so far. Lot's of clones, lot's of high THC not really any high CBD or somewhat "even" strains so far. Thanks everyone!

If you're in PDX look for a strain called Harlequin. It is about 14-17% CBDS and a very low thc content. This way your friend can get the meds he needs without the drawbacks of getting super stoned. if thats his thing. If he likes the THC as well, maybe maybe a batch of RSO with Harlequin and a high THC strain in the same batch? just a thought
