Boveda Pack Question - if shipped half-assed are they ruined?

So I ordered a 36 pack of Boveda Medium 62% and 4 hygrometers... which read a lovely 30% as they have sat in my mailbox for several hours in the cold...

These Boveda packs were inside a zip-lock bag... nothing else other than their own brown wrappers... which you don't open/activate or anything from what I can tell (it says!)...

So wouldn't the half-assed shipping suck all the moisture out? Do I need to get them out and let them acclimate in the house? Which is lower than 62% humidity still... I do have a room with a humidifier getting things up near 60% so I could 'rehydrate them' in that area...

Did Amazon/the seller screw the pooch here by not having them in a sealed bag? I could squeeze air out of the zip it was in...

Anyone? Would really like some input before stuffing them into my jars and having them leech all the moisture away for themselves...

Bovedas typically come in an individually sealed polypropylene wrapper. Each Boveda pack must be sealed to prevent premature loss of the liquid that permeates through the brown Boveda packaging. If yours were NOT in a sealed wrapper it is possible they are not 100% charged. I'd at the least inquire of the seller about why they were not in original OEM package. They definitely should not be in a zip lock plastic bag.

How did you measure the humidity of a bunch of individually wrapped humidity packs?

Just stick the humidity meter next to the packs?

Edit: If i'm reading correctly, they sent you used packs? Ha.. That doesn't sound right!

I must have ordered from the same place. They worked good for me. Even though they were not sealed individually. Maintained good numbers 18 months later and plan on using them again. Anyone claiming you can't cure bud..can suck it.

I just ordered some from Amazon and they came in a zip-lock bag. Found it a little surprising but they are nice and pliable and ready for the jars.

I just ordered a 12 pack from amazon and they came in a sealed plastic package. I was also curious as to why they weren't individually wrapped. I got the 2 day shipping so i don't think too much would get drained but still....

You can rejuvenate them by putting a small piece of wet sponge in a mason jar with the Boveda packs. (Or, in a container with buds that are still drying). Put the wet sponge in a sandwich bag left open at the top to prevent it from getting the packs wet.

boveda 62% does not come wrapped individually.

they come in a heavy-duty zip lock bag for storage.

they are ready to go and regulate 62%+/- whatever container they are put into.

any time ive ordered mine, they always came vacuum sealed in a pouch. if not, the they haven't been sealed right and (imo) are not 100% new. if not sealed properly, they will loose or absorb moisture and thus their shelf life is greatly reduced.

I also store mine in spare 1/2 gallon mason jars.
