"boutique" grow in closet

I just purchased 4 og clones and all different strains. I was informed to buy T5 light while in veg state, which has worked pretty well in one week. They've actually doubled in size. I'm inpatient and decided to put (just for one night) a 600watt lamp. It became WAY to hot and was stressing my plants, so I switched back to the T5 first thing in the morning. Did I f#$% it up?
Its strictly in my closet and when I'm ready to flower, its gonna go in a 4x4x8 tent. I'm hoping to use the 600watt lamp with a carbon filter 650 cfm exhaust fan to pull the heat out. I'm using Fox Farm soil and watering when bottom holes become dry. I just did some trimming tonight as instructed by a fellow grower.Also... On each, I did 4 different methods to experiment. I super cropped one, topped 2, and left one as is as well. Does this at all seem correct or am I doing something(s) wrong? (Idk how to post pics on this site, so please help with that too...)

Stress is to be avoided always. Stressed plants will do negative things. You just added too much heat. If you could vent the heat then you would be ok. I would try it again. Topping and super cropping is fine to do. You will gain experience from doing different things. If you're looking for larger harvests then look into undercurrent deep water culture (UDWC) but keep in mind that it is not for beginners or the poor grower.

Thanks for the quick response... the plants have seemed to recover nicely n still in veg state. I trimmed most of the bottom leaves/stems in hopes of production of more yield. Ive read the cannabis Bible which helps, but I prefer real peoples responses. I was told to not add nutrients until after the first month, is that correct since I'm using fox farm soil. No to be jerk or boast, but I have the time n money to make mistakes. Plus I have buddies who will donate female clones if I mess up. Should I just sit n wait and see what happens with this current grow?
