Both male and female preflowers?

I have a small breeding project and I went on a 3 day trip. Just before I left I found 2 males in my f1 cross seeds. To make sure, I left them there to deal with when I got back. When I got back however I was about to kill them and I was double checking when I noticed one of the plants had at least 4 preflower pistils up closer to the top of the plant. Checked one node below and saw the same male preflower I saw 3 days earlier. Found another single male calyx one node lower on the other side. So it seems the plant was male stopped being male and started being female since the male flowers didn't grow in clusters like the other male started to do in spades. I was just wondering if anyone had an experience like this. I'm still going to kill it because I have other plants with better side branching than this one to work with but I was just curious to see if anyone has seen the same thing.

Yea no sheeeeeeeeee. I've heard of female plants turning male in flowering but never it starting out male and turning female. The female turning hermi is a stress thing. This seems to be different.

Yeah, it is called being a hermaphrodite right from the start!
