botanigard for root aphids

unfortunatly i have root aphids
has anyone used Botanigard sucessfully to rid them???

i removed any excess plants i had in veg, took cuttings and removed all infected mothers. hopping this will get rid of them in my flower room at 4 weeks.

I've tried azetrol and it was moderately helpful, I had it very severe though. Are you running hydro or soil?

It was a good Idea IMO to get rid of any mothers that are infected. I also would bomb my room (plant free if possible). That's very much the easiest thing to do. That's what I did rather than keep a bugs life rolling.

i have been thinking i was batteling fungus gnats (using BTI) in my bloom room

but now i know they are not gnats, but aphids. so what to do at 4wks into flower to kill aphids and not ruin my crop or use chemicals.

really wondering if anyone has used botanigard?

Sorry never used it. I'm sure it will work fine. I ran azetrol and it worked as stated, but you need to run it for a couple watering weekly or bi weekly. Put up a couple stickys to catch the ones that get away. Also get some Diatomaceous earth and put it on top and in any drainage holes. When you water with botanigard it will flood everything and when the bugs try to crawl out they will get ripped to shreds. And a bowl of vinegar can help attract free aphids. They will land in it and die.

I had to cut my losses on a perpetual room for a month. I hate those little fuckers!

I'm using it right now i just did my first drench last night I takes like a week or tow for it to start killing i'm also using azamax and Liquid pyrethrum. I sure hope it works the azamax looks to be slowing them down i have used it for about two week befor the drinch with Botanigard. They are both pricey though. I'm in Hydro.

Bayer tree and shrub works like a charm after only a couple application i got rid of them all then as a preventative measure against contaminated soil i add nematodes at transplant. Never had a problem with them or any bug since.

Realize this thread has been dead for a while was just wondering how the botanigard did.I have been battling root aphids for a while have used sns drench smells good doesn't do anything else in my opinion using Azamax currently seems to slow down the little bastards. gonna order some was just wanting to know how well it worked if at all I appreciate any helpful responses . Starting over isn't an option running about 1000$ worth seed at various stages help me save my girls from this wretched beast of an insect

Botanigard alone will not rid them.

Combos of Botanigard, Pyganic EC 1.4, Azamax, and Merit 75 did it for me. I had them in the summer of 2010. They just came back. Either reentered the room or they went dormant for that long...

SNS 203 or Azamax has minimal affect.
Each barely results with a knock down and will certainly not solve the problem.
I used Bayer Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control which has 3 times less ( I think) imidacloprid than tree and shrub and it didn't do anything either.

Veg : multiple treatments at 60 mL per gallon of either SNS 203 or Azamax (label's recommended dosage strength) reapplied once weekly

120 mL per gallon of Bayer Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable - 3 doses over two weeks

and I still have root aphids. They are the fucking devil. I must have some fucked up karma.

I do hydro hand water 1 gallon coco pots using the entire Canna coco line.

Merit looks very interesting. The label for Bayer Fruit, citrus.. is 0.235% imidacloprid
The label for Merit 75 is 75% Imidacloprid. That's 320 times more concentrated than Fruit, Citrus & Vegetable.
I think you can't buy it the US. If anyone wants to mail me some I will pay you for your time.

Can find online at do my own pest control 58bucks for 2 oz this is the next step for me if ortho max won't work I hate the idea of systemic pesticides gotta do what gotta do deffinately the devil wish holy water would rid my grow of them lol good luck

botanigard 1 oz/gal, cloth pots with no holes, 1" of sand on top, yellow sticky traps, viola.

Mallet and Orthene. In flower your just fucked. You should kill everything but some dipped cuttings. Sterilize everything.

I hate Root Aphids, I have had them for 5 months, I did 3 1 hour soaks 3 days apart of the root ball pot and all in an Orthene, Pyrethrin, Soap solution. I followed this up with two soaks of a Soap and Merit 75 solution. 2 weeks later I was in full on outbreak mode again so I decided to take cuttings and start over, I bombed my tent and wiped everything with bleach and soap. I sprayed my cuttings with Azamax before putting them into new happy frog soil that I watered with nematodes, it has been 3 weeks and I just saw new flyers yesterday these guys dont give up. I am not even going to mess with pesticides again just starting over ends up being cheaper, easier and faster to get going again in my opinion.

You can't just treat the rootzone. Aphids will feed on any part of your plant. Flyers deposit eggs on upper portions of the plant. These eggs hatch crawlers that start another cycle. Bombs don't do it for aphids.
