botanicare pure blend pro grow 3-2-4 is NOT a complete fert?

I bought some botanicare pbp grow and when looking at the guarenteed analysis.. It's an incomplete fertilizer. I mean.. maybe I am missing something but ill post the analysis here. Notice that the trace elements aren't in there. They say that its great for hydro gardens but I fail to see how as it is missing trace elements such as boron, copper, iron, zinc, etc...

What do you guys think about it?

I can't recommend it because even with Pure Blend Pro Grow, Bloom Soil version And Liquid Karma combined doesn't have all the trace nutes plants need.

The problem might be that you are fertilizing seedlings... How big are they? You shouldn't be using any fertilizer while they're small.

maybe. they are about 2 weeks old and still looking like seedlings. they been having 0ppm water and a teaspoon of pbp grow per 5 gallons which is about 100ppms total. Not having all of the trace nutrients in the water will stunt the growth as well so it might be a combination.

I wished the darn guy at the hydro store would have told me that i needed some trace nutes for it. I guess ill either buy some earth juice or use some miracle gro with it.

You're right in that it's not 'complete', there are only 1 or 2 plant foods on the market that are. I used PBP for 8 years and it's 'complete enough' to grow healthy plants so if you're having issues, that's not the plant food's fault. I would suggest posting some pics in the 'plant problems' section to get some feedback on what you're doing wrong.

so what you are saying is that you used pbp for 8 years.. Any of those 8 years you used it in hydro? if so, did you ADD anything else to it or just PBP to your hydro grow?

They make a hydro formula. Are are sure you have the one intented for hydro? The soil stuff still has all the hydro info on the back. I imagine they just use one label to save money. I've used it for a few years now and like it. They sent me a bunch of samples with some liquid karma and cal-mag that I use on top of it so maybe that helps fill the holes. In soil, however, you are expected to derive at least some of your trace minerals from the soil itself.

ahhh shit. I looked at their website and I do have the non hydro one. But to be fair, on the one I got it does say its for hydro gardens also so idk. I will probably end up using it on my tomatoes and buying the hydro version.

I didn't use it in hydro, it didn't sound like you were either. If you're a hydro guy, I'd move away from botanicare. The GH 3-part, H&G's Aqua Flakes or DynaGro are all better options than what botanicare is offering for hydroponic use.

I personally don't believe in having a dozen different bottles. At least in soil. I use Grow and Bloom along with Cal-Mag. Botanicare Cal-Mag IMO is one of the best supplements on the market. I've also been using Liquid Karma and Sweet, but only because they sent me free samples. Liquid Karma lasts forever, so the 2 little sample bottles they sent me ought to last a few years. Have a bottle of Clearex too but I don't have a use for that.

Botanicare was pretty generous with the sample pack they sent me back in January. Two 8oz bottles of both PBP Grow and Bloom, along with 2 bottles of Liquid Karma. Also a bottle of Sweet and a bottle of Clearex. With shipping, I'd say it is a good $50 worth of products for FREE. I think they changed the sample policy. Too many people were taking advantage of it and they were winding up for sale on ebay. Now I think it is four 8oz bottles of your choice for $16. Still a good deal I think.

They actually have a couple new series out. There is the CNS17 series, the Power series, and a 3 part series called Triflex. I might try the CNS17 series once this PBP is gone.
