"I have been doing what the manufacturer tells me specifically not to do for years and it works fine"

Kind of begs the question...Why? Why would you put them in a jug and then add them? Why not just add them? Your adding an extra step..?

Makes sense to me... add plain water and adjust ppm to desired level.. if i had a large rez i would do this myself.

umm yeah. You add the nutes to a jug of water, then add them into the rez where as I just add them into the rez. Unless you just mix all your nutes in a big jug when you buy them then just add them to the rez.?

Whatever works man. I just never mix undiluted nutes, just like I don't add undiluted ph adjusters.

I'm using PBP Line and it works awesome, all the leaves are green and lush and the plants reeks of grape (my favorite smoke taste) some are heavily covered in crystals even by week 4. I had a hard time deciding which line to use, started of course with GH Flora and Lucas with good results, but the difference when starting to use PBP made me wonder if it was really necessary to keep looking. Aquashield is one of my favorite products hands down, so is Floralicious.

For anyone that hasn't checked in awhile, Botonicare added an interactive nutrient calculator [link] to their website for their different lines and additives.

I have seen the online calculators by the manufacturers and usually their advice will over feed your plants. Funny how none of those calculators will give you the "minimum" effective dose....LOL $$$ is all they're seeing, remember its a business.

I don't follow the exact ppm shown on the charts for some kinds of plants - some more, some less. But calculators are useful for more than just looking at EC. In any case, a lot of people go well over 1300ppm while flowering cannabis (whereas their chart maxes at about 1000-1100ppm in flowering)... might even be on the light'ish side for many people here?

I am switching to DM. Only because I built an undercurrent system. If anyone is in Portland I can make you a good deal on fresh, left over nutrients
