I remember in the 3rd grade our class grew a bonsai tree in a red plastic cup for a class project.

Is it possible to do the same with weed?

Also if I have not planted it yet and were to do so now would it still grow buds in september? just be smaller?

Thanks in advance.

Only a clone will work in a cup (any color). Because they will get root bound. Keep it i in full sun... Again I say seeds will not work in that small of an area. They will start of healthy but will need to be transplanted.

Well heres the thing, I dont have very much space to grow and was hoping to do this right on my balcony. What do you think the yield would be and

Will there be a yield at ALL if I plant this late in the season?

Okay we posted at the same time. Hmm. Well the soil outside of my house is less than adequate. So it seems like growing in a container is the easiest thing, whats the smallest container I could grow in? preferably something that would be easy to bury so it sort of blends in with the surrounding ground.

u can grow a nice crop in a cup u just need to keep it watered cause the more roots in a smaller area they will need to be watered way more often....but ya u could start growing if u get going asap make sure there in 8 hours of sun or more....and ull ahve a couple ounces depending how many plants

The yield part: your guess is as good as mine… Its to hard to tell because it all depends on how well you do it. Such as what if there is a problem with the plant? To many things can go wrong, and growing isn’t that easy of a sport if your just starting out. It gets easy as you learn more about the process. The best advice I can give you is watch you PH, keep your PPM’s right, and everything else will work its self out.

Yes its possible. But I would not expect anything more than an eighth of smokeables off of a foot hight plant grown in a 1 gallon pot (this late in the season anyway) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c92gU2iXhHE Here is a video of my tiny outdoor Sep plants. Grown about 3 years ago. Each of these I believe started in the pots that they are in (in the video) and lived their whole lives in the same pot. 2 plants started in Sep, began budding in November, and to be honest I think I harvested sometime mid dec, I really cant remember. It Can still be a lot of fun, but I wouldnt look forward to a huge yield.

So if I literally plant this today and keep it watered, look out for any bugs etc. get good sunlight you think that in october I could have buds ready to harvest??

And also it seems like there is some disagreement on whether or not I could actually grow in such a small container....

So... does anybody know for sure if it would work or not?

When roots get bound up the plants have harder times getting oxygen…. WATERING MORE LMFO dude that will kill your plants. If you’re going to chance growing anyways just plant the plants in something bigger and you will be game.

En you’re going to have to read up on stuff to make it work bro. For instance it’s not just about watering. You have to have the knowledge of when the plant wants to be watered, and when you’re over doing it. Most of the growers in this place will tell you the same stuff. It seems easy making a plant just grow, but good weed takes good food and attention.

I know dude, I am just telling you from what I know. Dirt doesn’t have a whole lot of variation. What I mean by this: Watering is the same consistency every plant, the variable is the feeding. Roots grow fast and need lots of 02 to stay alive. To small of a container and they will choke out giving you a week bud. I hope I make since, and just read read and read till you know it all or most of it. Experience is key to this matter and growing crop after crop is what is going to help you.

Alright well well see what happens. Im going to see what I can find to grow in, I cant grow a 6 foot plant because I dont have the space to do so. Keeping it small is a priority.

Anyway ill read up on the guides on this site and see what people say.

Probably going to end up using a small sized planting pot.

Im advice would be, if you live where they will start budding soon, throw some seeds in a cuple 10" pots and just let them do their thing. Even a plant put straight into the budding process should give you a decent amount of smoke depending on light, nutes, and problems such as bugs, ect. Lst them and you wont be disappointed! Good luck bro, happy growing!
