Boiling plants right after harvest?

my 62 year old uncle complemented my 12 motherplants from sensi seeds today. They look crazy for my first grow and as it was in a growhouse, they had alot of space, therefore huge yield. maybe im justa crappy grower and the seeds were good. anyways heres my question my old uncle says that when i cut my plants down i should put the plants stem ends (withought roots) into boiling water for 10 mins to shoot up the rremaining THC to the buds and leaves..... Is this true or was my uncle just really high??

I remember seeing it done once back in the late 70's and you could see red moving up the plant. I tried it on a plant and it just wilted the plant. But there is no thc in the plant it's on and around the bud areas.

THC does NOT move in the plant. it is produced from a gland on the surface. your uncle is wrong.

lol I kinda said that but I did see red vains go up the plant when this guy boiled the plants. "not saying it was thc" just red.

I did try it. It don't work on todays mj lol. Just need to find some of that old mexican dirt weed with lots of seeds.

kk thanks for all the responses its just that when i told him about the leaving the plant in 48 hours at the end he was like wtf no just cut the base put in boiling water and leave in dark cold room for 10 days or something maybe more. so he said this was the alternative in the 70s and he told me the buds taste better this way... so what should i do? listen to him or ut my plants in a 48 hour dark??

48 hours darkness my man, dont be boiling ur hard work

stop trying to do magic tricks with your plant and just harvest the thing.

trichomes contain THC. they are a "gland". there is a process involved. giving them extra dark or boiling them will NOT increase THC levels. it takes 8 weeks to get it to this point, do you really think you can make more THC overnight?

I have found the best method for this is to get out your vacuum cleaner and put it on the end of the cut stem, suck out ALL the THC into the vac bag. Eliminates all that pesky trimming.
