Starting this grow off a little late but nonetheless getting started. Much thanks to the Bodhi family for giving me the opportunity to help out with their work in looking for treasures for us all. I will do my best using organic methods and led's for the lowest indoor footprint that I can.
What I understand about the cross is that the Axis is composed of Congo x g13hp and SSDD is Bubbashine x Appalachia. This will be a first here as I have only grown g13hp crosses and not Congo or anything with SSDD in it. I am really looking forward to this grow as during my research these individual strains all look to have impressive qualities on their own.
Medium used:
I use a mix of promix HP and recycled soil that is amended as needed. I maintain two bins with one being more of a veg leaning mixture and the other being more amended for flower. In veg amendments included are alfalfa, garden sulfur, worm castings, oyster shell, a bit of crab meal and some bio-live. Flower mix is mostly the same but the alfalfa is withheld and fish bone meal is added as well as charged bio char. Nothing is ever really added for nitrogen as leaves and roots are recycled and there is plenty of N available in other sources.
Lighting used:
In veg I have been using 8 bridgelux gen 2 strips in 3500k and 4000k in a 2 x 2. They run super cool and put out plenty of light on an HLG 120. For flower I have switched to 4 luminus gen 4 cobs in 3000k and 3500k @ 90 cri in a 4 x 4. Power supply is an HLG 320 which will be dimmed as needed. So far I have found that to be more than plants can handle in that space.

Mrs. B was kind enough to send me a second set of beans after the first set was mushed in the mail, thank you! The new ones arrived safe and sound and 8 of them are now in a paper towel in a sandwich bag wedged between a router and nas.

Not all that much to report at this point. Doing great with 7 of 8! All of them had tails within 48 hrs with most already with tails in 24 hrs. One of them has an interesting double cotyledon. Never have seen something like that before and it doesn't show up on any of the other leaves. Looks like there are a couple tall ones in here.

Amazing how coco base works. Three weeks and they went boom! No one has showed sex yet but there is at least one of the shorter plants that looks like it will be a male. They have been pretty hungry for the mag. I had to keep a little epsom foliar on them to keep them happy. Other than that they will be getting one final transplant here in a week and headed to flower shortly after that.Axis-SSDD 6-14.JPG

Ok, now I should be updating these a bit more as all have shown sex. There are 3 boys, 4 girls. Somehow I always think I will only get 1 girl so I end up planting way more than I should. Observations over all the plants so far. Lots of deep sweet spice scent and some musk that lingers on your fingers. 9 to 11 finger elongated leaves are the norm with one of the girls having short but narrow leaves. Some variation exists in size but the seeds were not all started at the same time and there were a couple that were just smaller from the beginning. Tonight they will be heading for transplant and should be flipped after a week or two of breaking in their new shoes.

Small update. They have been flipped for 5 days and a light stretch has started on 2 of them. Drinking more already which is positive. A few days after transplant I gave them a half does of Recharge. Here are a few pics of them individually. Males are still kicking and stretching a bit as well. They are very similar to the girls and I will get a few shots of them in here as well.

Sorry I have been slacking over here. Work and another vacation later will do that to ya. Blumats were added. Fickle things but they are great. PH started to get a little wonky so I am checking and correcting it now. Even though I use gypsum and oyster shell and fish bone meal 8.5 to 9 is pushing it. Ladies in this string of pics are 6 weeks or so from flower set, about 7 to 8 weeks from flip. Other than that they have only had one treatment of recharge and I tiny bit of horticulture grade molasses.

Axis-SSDD #6 Personal favorite so far. Sweet but hashy. Best way to describe rubbing the trichs on a leaf is that it reminds me of that bud which cures to explode your lungs. Structure wise she is medium in size with just a little stretch. Also looks close to finishing at around 8 weeks.
Axis - SSDD 8-20 (7).JPGAxis - SSDD 8-20 (5).JPG

Axis-SSDD #5 Similar to #6. Sativa looking with minimal stretch sweet like some sugary fruit but not grape. I think this will be a solid 9 to 10 week to finish.

Axis - SSDD 8-20 (1).JPG

Axis-SSDD #3 has a little more stretch but a little less frost. This girl smells a little grapey and earthy and she has a bit further to go. Probably a 10 weeker.

Axis - SSDD 8-20 (12).JPG

Axis-SSDD #1. Streeettttccchhh! She grew just about as far as she could. I managed to not have to hurt her. She is a good 10 week girl lanky but not flimsy. Nice and sweet like her sisters but with a strong hashy rotten stank happening. Lighter on frost but I don't think that's the end all be all. Lets see how she smokes.

Axis - SSDD 8-20 (11).JPGAxis - SSDD 8-16 (10).JPG

Finally a couple shots of the two phenos. Shorter girls with a bit more frost on the left, taller ladies on the right. Bear in mind these pics are not all from the same time frame but within a couple weeks of each other.

#6 is close to done. I thought she was done but looks like she needs another week. The sweet is more hash and body odor now. Flowers are getting that nice caked crusty look to them. I don't put too much into fade as some strains seem to do it and other don't but all four of the girls are fading and experiencing some nutrient pain in the end.

Bringing down #3 now. She is a bit light on scent. A bit of poo, body odor with very light sweet notes. She wasn't a huge yeilder, needed a bit of support. Certainly needed more than I gave her. Honestly though the flowers are respectable in size and looks. As always though the jury is out till I can taste the end product.

More to follow once everyone is dried and cured a bit. So far I can say out of 4 females all are very nice. Most have a funk, body odor and varying levels of sweet, fruit, grape on the back end. My favorite so far is a hashy, funky caked girl which is my #6 pheno, closely followed by #5. They were almost identical. Here are my favorite ladies together!Axis - SSDD 8-20 (10).JPG

Report for #6
Grow Characteristic: Kept a centralized flower node structure. No topping or training was done. Stretch was minimal at maybe 25%. She supports herself mostly with just a couple branches needing help at the end. She had one fat center cola with the rest as medium sized flowers.

Smell: Started off a bit sweet on the back end with b.o. oil dominating the front. After a dry and a partial cure the smell of sweets is gone, its all oil and pungent funk now. Just a ever so light hint of artificial sweetener.

Effect: Smooth burning when twisted up but a big draw will give you the cough. High is functional. I had multiple sessions with her and each time I ended up wide awake and not getting put down. Further use didn't cause crash and burn either. This was some fun flower. Wild ideas and very carefree. A very mind altering head trip. A little bit of body but almost all head.

Report for #5
Growth Characteristic: Identical to #6 with medium width leaves and she grew with most growth centralized like a Christmas tree. No topping or training she needed minimal support. Stretch was low at around 25% of her original size. Her main cola was a good 10-12 inches with medium size flowers all the way around.

Smell: For the most part this was similar to #6 with the oil, hash, funk being the primary smell and a sweet sugar smell on the back. After dry and some time to settle down this one is balanced between the oily, b.o. and sugar cookie sweets.

Effect: Smooth but very much expando. Love this twisted up but taking too big a rip will get you coughing. Good functional pot that I can work game and clean with. Its not to say you aren't altered, as this really changes my head and its mostly in the head. In a bong you get to a new headspace quick. I haven't tried multiple sessions in a row yet but this feels much like #6 in effect which means it will take a while to overdo it.

I delayed the report on #3 for a while as I felt that it needed some time to mature in the jar.

Growth Characteristic: This girl grew tall and needed a little bit of support. No trimming or training was done. Stretch was 50 percent, maybe a little bit more from original size. The flowers had a bit more inter nodal spacing but remained tight. Trichome coverage is less than #5 and #6 but is still good for bag appeal.

Smell: A bit of B.O, sweat and sweet, like socks that should have been changed 2 weeks ago. Luckily when you crack open a flower the sweetness shines through.

Effect: Smooth to smoke but very hashy like the others. Originally after a couple weeks dry she was pretty harsh. My feeling was that a little time to cure was needed and that proved true. I really like this one for effect. Not quite as sedative with a good dream state feel.

#1 needed a bit of cure along with #3 and would probably be the least desirable of the 4 but still special by modern standard.

Growth Characteristic: Tall, 50 percent stretch. As with the others there was no trim or training done. She had a bit more side branching that made for more outward growing flowers. All of her flowers were a bit more pointy with a medium level of trichome coverage.

Smell: After a cure smells of hash, wood and sweet.

Effect: Very aware while not stimulating after some time in jars. Dreamy but not put down is a good way to describe her. Flavor is old school hashy with a bite to it. I liked the expando quality of this smoke even though it might be too harsh for some.
