ok so last weed i grew my bag seed to day 4 and the root dried out i believe i didnt water it enough. however my 2 blue mystic seeds came in this week and i am on day 4 again and the same thing is happening the leaves are pointing almost straight towards grow light. and someone told me on here that i means its in dire need of water. but i have been watering them everyday. they are only in small solo cups with very good drainage. i even bought moister thing to measure how moist wet or dry the soil is. I am using ffof with added perlite. 2 26 watt cfls. my temp is 78. and my ph is around 6.8 -7. i also have constant airflow intake and exaust fan. there is a pic attached. please help this is my first grow.

You did make a comment about being PLENTY of drainage..... that might be a problem.. These are little you want the roots to grow through the dirt in search of water DON't water them every day. At this age I give them 30 ml of water until 2-3 sets of true leaves form. at this age You don't want to have run off make em search for the water it will make them stronger in the long run.

Also Fox Farm Ocean forrest is a pretty hot soil ( hot soil = nutes in the soil) I know alot of people use FFOF for starts but there strains might be more tolarent (sp?). I wouldn't use FFOF until first transplant, I would use Fox Farms Light Warrior it is specifaly designed for clones and starts. (on a side not Fox Farms soil bad ass)

JUST AN FYI - the more perlight you add to your soil the more you will have to water (BUT not every day)

If you could back the camera up a bit and take another picture, that would help. A seedling will "stretch" toward the lights, especially if they are too far away from the lights.

Also, it almost sounds as if you are overwatering. You don't need a meter for that. Just stick your finger into the dirt to feel if it is still moist. Let the first inch or two dry out before watering. Best of luck!

Got to +REP ya for that good advice. It goes against a lot of RIU mentality, but I agree regarding hot soils. Seedlings should be in an organic starter mix.

THanks lerellion i was told at a local grow shop that the ffof was very thick and needed added perlite. i was so afraid of over watering my plant last week that one died thank god that was bag-seed and it was just an experiment. so thats why i have been watering more. only thing i can think of is that the soil might be hot. if this fries my plants i am going to invest in light warrior. my buddy is running same seeds same setup with no problems and same soil. i read on here that if the leaves are pointing up its because its trying to trap evaporation and hold as much water as possible.

That is mostly true, but usually it starts with just the serrated tips and the leaf tip curling up. You still haven't told us what you are using for lighting......

Try cooling the area down. If that temp gauge is correct, it is over 90 degrees in that box?

Based on that pic, the reason the leaves are pointing straight up it looks like new growth. just keep a close eye on it. I have to agree with lerellion with the drainage and the over watering. What type of water are you using Tap water?
