Blockbuster 8 or radiant 8 for 3x3 area

So I have decided, after looking all over the Internet to either get blockbusters or radiants to replace my shitty big kahunas. Before I buy 11 of these I was hoping some people could weigh in. I have found the radiant for 140 shipped or the blockbuster for180 shipped. I am looking to cover a 3x3 square evenly with a 600 watt hps. Any help would be appreciated

600w is a lot of heat for a 3x3 tent. I think you may have a problem cooling it. I have a 400w in a 2x2 tent currently and its a constant battle to keep the tent under 82 degrees.

I think either of those hoods will cover a 3x3 canopy but after quickly looking ithink the blockbuster's look like better hoods. But that is just a gut reaction looking at them over the net, either should work great.

Yea I'm not using a tent. I prefer smaller tables because when I used to do two large tables, problems affected whole crops. Thanks for the input. I am leaning toward the blockbuster at the moment

Not sure what hood to recommend because I wouldn’t grow that way personally.

I have some blockbusters, they seem like they are almost 3 feet wide. They disperse light well but 3 ft is very narrow.

I see you on here a lot and the knowledge that you displayed when discussing axial vs centrifugal fans shows me that your not not some high school kid on here for kicks. I am curious what you mean when you say you wouldn't grow this way? Do you mean sog or my setup? I have been doing this for many years and obviously I know my parameters better than you but I'm always open to suggestions for change

You are correct though. The dimensions and angle of the reflector suggest the blockbuster would disperse light over a larger area than the radiant would. Since I am looking for a more concentrated light, it seems the radiant would be better

11 HPS 600's is no joke for one person.

It just seems strange to do so many individual small set-ups. I know you said you had problems that would effect a whole table but (this just constructive criticism) but maybe your attacking the wrong problem.

IMHO for indoor growing and maximum yield you want the most even canopy possible with the most even intense (intense to an extent) lighting possible. The goal being the reflectors overlap light evenly over the canopy. This is usually evident in any commercial grow.

If your doing individual set-ups you probably don't have that.

But whatever floats your boat.

I have some radiant 6's but they probably have different dimensions so I can't compare.

Each light isn't necessary independent but my space requirements are super tight so I am forced to run them in straight lines to the point where my vent to another room is. If I could have them side by side I certainly would
