Blimburn Silver Surfer Haze Seedling Pics & Problems

This is a feminized Silver Surfer Haze from Blimburn.

Something isn't right. The tips are brownish, growth is very slow and to me, it looks stretched. Germination was very fast and robust...but then growth seemed to slow dramatically. Overwatering? Not sure.

I have it growing in a 1 Liter air pot filled with jiffy seed starter soil with is mostly peat. I think using this soil was a mistake because it has no nutrients at all...but i have a bottle of fox farm grow big.

Overall, how does it look? This is my first grow btw

It's tough to tell what could be the culprit on first glance.

What kind of light setup do you have shining down on it? Could you post pics?

Looks like what could be heat burn, but at the same time, looks like some other strange anomaly...caused by possibly overwatering.

I use Jiffy seed starter. Actually, that is ALL I use. I mix it with 30-35% perlite, and that's it. It works VERY well. I use my nutrients every time I water, (Dyna-Gro) but they aren't ever needed before the end of week 1 (from seed), or even up to the end of week 2. The cotyledons on the seedlings carry enough nourishment for them to thrive until they fall off or start to shrivel. Then, it's usually time to "feed."

Since you don't have perlite mixed into your medium, it's possible that your watering is excessive for the seedling, and/or the pot isn't draining the water quick enough for the plant's needs.

Can you get some perlite, and then mix a good amount of it in your medium? Re-pot your plant, and water ONLY when the medium feels dry (and the pot is "lighter").

That should work to get your plant back in shape, unless the seed itself was just a bad-luck-of-the-draw. That happened with my first feminized seed (Nirvana Master Kush).

If he's using the same Jiffy as I do, it stays roughly at 6.5 PH out of the bag. Pretty stable and reliable if the water going in is in the ideal PH range.

That's if it has the lime included in the mix. My Jifffy Seed Starter has Shagnum peat moss, vermiculite and dolomite lime.
