Black Sugar Rose (Delicious), Witches Wedding (Seedsman), Midnight Mass (Piff Coast Farms), NL #10 (Sunwest)

Project: Black Sugar Rose (Delicious), Witches Wedding (Seedsman), Northern Lights #10 (Sunwest), Midnight Mass (Piff Coast Farms) - to be planted on arrival

Equipment : 3X3 Mars Hydro with 300W Mars Hydro LED Light. Currently using cheap germinator with cheap LED bought from Amazon. Soil is Fox Farms Happy Frog. The plan however is to transplant them to 3 or 5 gallon pots using Purple Cow Indicanja. Planning on just using Ph'ed tap water for the entire grow till the end where I plan to flush with water + mollasses last 2 weeks before harvest.

Date of Birth : March 22, 2024

This will be my 2nd grow after a disappointing autoflower first grow in a tent in a greenhouse. Good to learn your lesson the first time around. This time these will be all photos and will be grown inside the house where temperature is better regulated.

I just put 2 of the NL #10 and 1 more WW seed in wet paper towels. Once those seeds sprout I will be adding the sprouts to the germinator. I will be adding potentially 3 more of the MM once they arrive to the germinator. This will be 9 plants total if they all work out. I'm anticipating to move around 3 or 4 of the plants to the outside greenhouse and grow 5 inside the tent. I'm expecting one will not work out for whatever reason. Expecting first harvest by end of June for the tent and August/September for the greenhouse grow. My tent is only 5'11 in height so the MM's may be the ones to go the greenhouse. I also currently have an Acapulco Gold (Sensi) growing in the greenhouse in veg state.

Here is day 5. Top two are the BSR and the bottom is a WW. However the WW looks stunted to me for some reason.

Day 9. There is another one trying to pop. Still waiting for the Piff Coast Farms Midnight Mass. Leaves are turning yellow. Anyone know why?

Soil look wet.. Seedlings don't need much water..
I am gonna jump on this band wagon as well. The soil may not even be hot you may be drowning the plants. Diluting your soil next time will still help at the seedlings stage, they need little nutrients and not much water. They don't need to be dry, but you don't want them sitting in water. You want the medium to be wet but with air inside, not water logged.

How often do you water? Are they sitting in run off?

Yeah I watered a few times since I planted these seeds. Around a tablespoon per square each water. It has been at least a few days since I watered. Surprised how long it takes for the soil to dry with these seedlings. I guess I need far less. Runoff is a little hole drilled in the bottom of each square.

I'm gonna tag along for the ride. I'm currently growing the SugarBlackRose from delicious. The two I have going are in week 4 12/12. I think your gonna like the strain.
I found two phenos. One is more indica and the other seems to be less dense and leaning towards the sativa side. Both are beautiful plants and I plan on keeping clones. She's a great candidate for a scrog grow.

Can you post a pic please so I can see what you are referring to by pheno. I've always was curious how a pheno is identified, especially so early in the grow. It just seems that pheno hunting is more or less just a visual exercise. Trying to judge a book by its cover rather than its content, or smoke.

Day 11 : Soil must be bad. New sprout has already given up. Drying up a little more. Planning to add a little bit of nutes + calmag once the soil dries up more. Yellow leaves but other wise chugging along. Top 2 are Black Sugar Rose. Bottom right is Witches Wedding. 20240401_085253.jpg

Best to start em in regular seedling compost vs grow soil as thats a bit hot for seedlings like i use biobizz all mix and for some that is too hot so i top the top layer off with seedling compost so they start in stuff thats less rich next time round id do that bud

Here is the Acapulco Gold (Barney's Farm) that sprouted during Christmas. This was grown as the second seed in a 5 gallon pot with the first seed having been harvested beginning of March as an autoflower in the grow tent. This has been growing outside the tent and inside the greenhouse for the last month. When I first took this outside of the tent beginning of March it was a foot and half tall. I must say, the greenhouse seems way better for growing than the tent and the 300 watt Mars Hydro lights. Also it's starting to flower. As the days grow longer from here till the solstice I'm expecting this to go back to veg. But I could be wrong who knows. I am planning to take some cuttings from this plant and try to root some clones to grow more plants in the greenhouse. 20240401_153913.jpg20240401_154242.jpg20240401_153928.jpg20240401_153936.jpg

Decided to move the seedlings to the greenhouse because the 5 watt led in the germinator just sucks and the soil is just too wet. Will do the transplant today. Overnight temps in Socal is around 45 degrees. Hopefully these guys will survive the greenhouse

Great Lakes no water soil came in. Transplanted the 3 seedlings to the new grow medium in the greenhouse. Hopefully these guys will rehab and come to life in here for a week before I put the into a tent and 18/6 veg cycle.

Day 14: The sun giveth life. Moving to the greenhouse to rehab has turned out to be a good idea so far. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so I may move these to the tent. We'll see. The Witches Wedding, which was a freebee from Seedsman, is now DOA. I have a short amount of experience in dealing with freebees but of the two sellers who gave them out there is a reason why they are freebees. I am also not 100% if the mature plant is an Acapulco Gold or a Super Silver Haze from Greenhouse Seeds. I planted both seeds so it has to be between these two. Whatever it is, it is looking good so no complaints from me.20240404_120159 (1).jpg20240404_120159 (1).jpg20240404_120159 (1).jpg20240404_120155.jpg20240404_120126.jpg20240404_120214.jpg20240404_120448.jpg20240404_120443 (1).jpg20240404_120252.jpg

Not sure why these are being held up near my house for a week awaiting delivery. This is highly disappointing and I am ready to order seeds from somewhere else. I've nearly given up on receiving these. SMH

It's gonna be a piff party. Ordered 6 feminized Harlem Shuffle seeds (Katsu) via Hella Dank Seed Company.

Have read good reviews about this strain and this maker. If the MM come through these will be a good comparison in my search to find that Uptown Piff from Spanish Harlem I smoked over 20 years ago.

This whole entire weed growing journey was spurned by me being fed up with the sub-par weed sold in the dispensaries these days. I distinctively recall smoking a lot of fire in the college days of the mid to late 90s. Looking for that kind, that chronic, that dank, that skunk, that piff.

If all goes well by the end of summer I will have Black Sugar Rose, Midnight Mass, SSH, and Harlem Shuffle. Going to be a piff party up in here. Harlem Shuffle.png

Got an email from the good people at Piff Coast Farms today asking me about my order of the Midnight Mass. I told them it seems like USPS has lost the package somehow as it has been sitting in hub here in Long Beach for the last week awaiting delivery, which doesn't sound right to me.

Piff Coast Farms said they will mail out a new package of MM seeds on Monday!

Like I said, it's going to be a Piff party up in here. Thank you Piff Coast Farms!
