-birth control pills-

A solution of one pill to one gallon of water has been reported to cause increased growth speed in tomato plants. It is possible this will help herb plants too. One treatment administered before flowering and one administered few weeks before harvesting might help the plant mature faster.

One grower told a story of the same type of plants, one administered the oestrogen and the plant grew to 20 feet, while the other untreated plant grew to just 7 feet. This may be purely anecdotal. but it may work.

...this was found posted on a Dutch web-site. It would be interesting to know if anyone has had any joy with this particular method!

i heard putting gas on your plants and setting fire too them increases there growth by exactly 23.746% aswell.

Estrogen, found in birth control pills, has a similar effect (feminizing). Dissolve 1 pill in 1 and a half fluid ounces of water, and then soak your seeds in this solution overnight. Sprout the seeds on tissue paper saturated with the same solution.

Sensa Soak is marketed in the Netherlands as a commercial seed feminizer and is used as a soak before germination.

Increases of between 10 and 25% more females have been achieved using these methods. For best results, germinate untreated seeds in vermiculite soaked in a weak solution of hydroponic feed, which has been diluted by at least 50%...

When poured onto the germinating plants, the female hormone in the pills (estradoil) gives a higher chance (75%) that the plant will mature to be female. When poured onto blooming plants, bud weight is greatly increased and taste is improved. To prepare the mixtures, mix each pill in one gallon of hot water. do not use the last seven pills in the pack as they do not contain any hormones. The plants do not receive this hormone therapy until the second set of true leaves are present.

Anyone else care to be belittling without any evidence?

Anyway, I've not tried this but since my wife still has a few scrips for BCP's I'm going to give it a shot and see if at a minimum I can feminize seeds with any success. I may try to increase yield with it, but haven't decided yet, I would like to stay organic if possible.

i know plant estogens(isoflavones i believe is the word) affect humans woman take them during menapause so i dont see why it would not be the 0ther way around. i would give a go but have no birth control pills. worth trying i think.

humans physiology and a plants' physiology are completely different.
It's like saying you should feed a plant steak and eggs because it gives humans energy so why wouldn't it work for a plant....

your references say "estrogen, found in birth control pills". what about all the other stuff in BC pills these days? you want to throw that crap in with your plants? i sure dont.

and you should be carefull reading cultivation handbooks. if you read enough of them you find that they contradict each other constantly... whos right and whos wrong?

very well put
youre incorrect plant estrogens have an effect on humans that is why women use soy products containing isoflavones to moderate estrogen levels and male athletes are told to stay clear of soy products as they have a negative effect on testosterone. tribulus.t another plant directly effects male or female lutinizing hormone l.h. in mammals there are many other interactions like this i wont bore you with. yes plants and mammals are different but remember all living things share a common ancestor and sexual hormones on a molecular level are not that different from 1 species to the next. this idea is worth experimenting with .

depending how you look at it plants do eat steak and eggs or whatever else dies and is broken down into n.p.k. in soil by microbial action. chop up some steak and eggs bury it plant a couple months later and there using the energy from the steak and eggs hence the blood meal(cow blood) found in many over the counter soils as a nitrogen source lol. but seriously estrodial compounds could be usefull on female plants worth messing around with.

actually, birth control for fertilizer is well known amongst the plant growing world from moms and their household plants to professional growers. plants fed BC grow faster and look healthier than plants without the BC.

mary j is not some magical plant and will typically benefit from the same things as your normal household plants would.

when it comes to fertilizers, the old man down the street with a beautiful flower garden would likely grow better bud than most growers.

ill try to get some BC pills and do an experiment dividing clones into 4 groups around 3 different vertical lights with each light having 2 from each category for a total of 4 plants from each group. ill then average the yield for a good comparison. ill post a thread when i get started.

-birth control
-plain soil from the yard
-bud specific nutes
-BC + bud specific nutes

its worth a shot. maybe test only a few plants out of your grow. in case anything goes badly you haven't destroyed your entire crop.

i did not know it was over the counter maybe ill compare on 1 plant treated 1 not of the same clone and see if it is usefull.
