I've been drooling over those Gavitas for a while.

And I still think those are 1000 watters in that pic. You can tell because the 1000 watter has a ballast that's quite a bit longer and the ballast on the 600 watter is short-

5-600 for their 1000 set up doesn't seem so bad to me, gonna try a few out myself. By the time you get a nice ballast, bulb and reflector you are at nearly the same price as the full gavita set up. In fact I ended up getting a decent deal on em at about 495 each ... just can't tell you how good they are yet. Gonna run 4 over 2 4x8 beds even though they only recommend 3 !
Are they as hot as HPS and why not do a side by side and get a 420 Induction light as well and run it side by side. Ultimate test.

The Gavita Pros ARE HPS. And HOTTER than the standard 1000 watt HPS.

Honestly, there's no comparison between any 1000 watt HPS and the 420 induction light.

You can use the Gavita Pro 1000 watters to frost up a warehouse full of monsters. The 420 induction light is more suited for growing lollipops in your closet-

Pharma, I must respectively disagree with that statement. I have just returned home from a garden in S. Cal that 2 runs ago switched from 1000w HPS Raptor set up x4 to a Inda-Gro 420 x4 . Yield is actually increased by about 20%. This could be an anomaly for all I know but the savings on power are worth even the professed percentage in yeild drop the manufacturer warns of if you don't add red to your spectrum in the final stage.

It must be the 1st garden in history to yield more yet alone even close to a 1000 hps with a 420 plasma. Do you work for inda grow or what?

I don't work for inda-grow and flower in HPS and the inda-grow Induction lighting.

My side by side with plants grown from seed from the same plant:

- Induction is good to use from babies to final
- Induction runs much cooler and they last 5 yrs
- Unless you have some red LED's with the induction, they don't finish as fat and tight as the hps.

I like the induction on my light movers and get more final product from plants on the outside area of the grow.

We have a room of them running right now. My opinion thusfar is that they are lagging behind the HPS by about 7 days of growth in size. That being said we are running them at 18" and i think they could benefit from being at 12" off the canopy.

I couldnt imagine them yielding much if trying to grow huge bushes like you're doing there. They are def gonna do best for Scrog.

Hi Gregg-

Sorry to sound like a prick with my comment about the lights your running.

You've got some nice looking buds and a winning smile, so carry on.

But...

If your gonna stick with those lights, next time I'd run a branchy hybrid, scrap the nets and let 'em stretch into chicken wire. Then you get a nice even canopy, poor penetration won't be an issue and your harvest will be heavier, and denser. :bigjoint:

thanks for the tips. I'm still the persistent newbie but i'm having fun learning. Looks like I'll be moving to Oregon the end of this year because my caregiver cards run out in Dec. Then comes a new learning experience, growing these goodies outdoors in Southern OR.

I'm currently trying to figure out a grow friendly area, where I might want to move the family.

Something tells me Arizona will be fighting home growers for a long time to come.
I agree, so I've been hunting around Grants Pass and the people and politics are much friendlier for growers...and the weather is nice :)

No Coolman I do not work for Inda-grow. You are correct, this is in fact the first garden in history to yield more from 420 Reverse induction than 1000w HPS. You are awesome.

I'm wary of any company that uses 420 in their marketing scheme...
Seriously?

420 cleaner works great for cleaning bongs... Granted it is alcohol and salt! How does the numbers 420 made you wary?

I have heard a simular arguement for cannabis... Someone told me they are wary of people that say cannabis cures cancer!

there you have it rubbing alcohol 1-2$ for 91% salt .79 420 cleaner $8 only a 400% markup for a special 420 item. i have always used running alcohol and salt nothin better. o wait they put an orange scent in the 420 cleaner yumm with blue dye

I''l bet you find that same mark up on every bottle and bag at any "grow shop"....and the more expensive it is...the better it must be. :wall:
I have heard, "If you are having trouble selling something, RAISE THE PRICE". If you are giving it away, it cannot be good

and YES, I am a cynical old man

I don't believe that they use 420 so much as a marketing scheme as they do for the fact that it's 420 watt bulb. However I'm sure it doesn't hurt when your marketing to Potheads
