Biochar questions

I've recently been turned on to the wonderful product biochar! But as wonderful as it is, I feel it would be an unnecessary cost if I can make it myself. So that being said, I did some research, I know how to make it. I don't however have any idea what would be best to use. I've read everything from corn cob husks, Apple tree trimmings, to rabbit manure. But what would be the best to use for cannabis?
Does anyone here produce their own?

@Rrog makes his own. He uses a 35 gallon drum which sits inside of a 55 gallon drum.

You could buy some charred wood that's used for barbecues. Just make sure it's 100% natural and untreated. I've used the Cowboy brand in the past with no issues.....just gotta bust it up in to smaller pieces which can be a bit messy

it'd be a big pita to "cook" them all up and then break them up, you can get a bag of hardwood charcoal for about 5 bucks, maybe less, and it only takes a bag or two, unless you have a huge grow.
haven't heard of using rabbit manures.. seems to me they'd burn up too easy, but I don't know
