:leaf:Ok now some say they pot into big pots right away while others pot up as they go. Which is right? What are some of your potting methods and why? Showgirl

I always staged my repotting sizes. My logic behind it is that it keeps them from getting rootbound as fast. If you start in a big pot, the roots go straight to the bottom and twist up. Whereas if you stage it, they take longer to reach the bottom of the newer pots. I have very limited soil experience, so this may be totally off.

has anyone tried to do both at the same time, go from seedling cups right to big pots that will be the final pots,,, and do the graduall steps till the biggest and final pots,,, I would like to know this as Im thinking that if you go right to 5 gal. pots would the plants get nice and big, with big giant buds,, or what,,, would be a good quest......:peace:........

I step up. Start in a cup then 1 gallon pot then 2 gallon then stacked 2 gallon for almost 4 gallons. it works well for me but alot of work if you have alot of plants.
