Ok, so look at these leaves. You can still see the water spots on the first one and this was taken after watering with calmag and epsom salt to help a mag def problem. They were also watered 2 days ago so they are a little droopy here. I never water that much, i was just trying to add some epsom and calmag. I usually only water when the dirt is dry and pulls away from bucket. They had already stood right back up by the time i had left. They are obviously more indica dominant. But these leaves dont mean lack of light or too much do they? If anything, i would think they are getting plenty of light to be growing this big. They are about 22in away from a 1000w HPS in a 4x7x8 room. They are healthy and green and perky. Theres nothing wrong with them is there? They are just big healthy leaves im hoping. Just wondering cause i thought i was doing a good job, then i find out that big healthy leaves means they arent getting enough light and i should cut them off. Should i do this?

Im pretty sure its a good thing. At least during veg anyways. During veg you want to pack on the weight, leaves, height, width...allt hat good stuff. Big plants mean big buds. Sure, during flowering you may want to get rid of them cause you're focusing on the bud. But during veg you want them so they can take in all that good light and make big, health plants. Got any pics?

Just some bag seed. But its obviously more indica dominant. And this weed had me laid out on the couch. Im not fond of that but this is just a experimental grow while im waiting on my jock horror and silver pearl to arrive.

Do not cut the big leaves off, just lower your lights nearer to the plants.
I do not recall advising you to cut the leaves of:blsmoke:

yes, see his plants are way way too wet and not getting enough light. You need to slow down on the water man, those are really bad over watered. And cfl's can get really really close to plant as long as you have a good fan blowing the heat away from them cause those boogers get hot. Mine on the other hand are 22in below a 1000w hps. Plenty of light. I just dont understand why you think a big healthy fan leaf is a bad sign? What is this, bizarro world where up is down and day is night and right is wrong and black is white?!?

If you can help it and the leaves are fine, DONT pluck the leaves during flowering. They are what produce the big buds.

THANK YOU!!! Thats exactly what im saying. I was told that my big fan leaves were a sign that i wasnt getting enough light. Even though i have a 1000w hps in about 28sqft. In other words, plenty of light. Really all those big, beautiful, healthy fan leaves mean are healthy plants that are going to give me big wonderful buds. I cant wait. And rest assured, ill be bugging the shit out of you guys looking for answers and suggestions. As long as they arent malicious.

it can go both ways I pluck a little to get the light throughout the plant, too many big leaves will block most of the light and your yield will be far less.
