Big Bang First grow

What i really wanted to ask you tho joe is did you prune away any of the lower branches early in flowering to promote growth at the tops? And did you remove any of the dense leaves inside the plant from time to time cos it really is soooo thick with foliage.
I didn't prune anything on this grow, I let them grow naturally, although, the buds in the middle of the thick foliage didn't get much light so they were a bit airy.. the only pruning I did was when a leaf would yellow and die..

:peace:

jesus joe, you let your poor bruv risk getting knifed cos your too tight to share your Big Bang with him? shame on you geez!!
 If you only knew him
He gets in all sorts of predicaments on a daily basis! It's not uncommon..
He likes to see whats on offer around aswell, doesn't like to smoke the same stuff constantly and build up a tolerance to it...:eyesmoke:

I gotta share it with my bruv..:eyesmoke:

their coming along sweet bruv - going to do my update in about an hour, just waiting for my little window of oportunity (for 15mins at 8pm and 7.45am is when the 2 x 23w cfls are on and the HPS is off - i know this means my light period is 12.5 on and 11.5 off but shouldn't make a difference - i hope!).

i wanted to ask you joe - how tall was your BB at harvest? mine has only stretched about 3" since the switch and when did your start to stretch, what week? and although i have vegged mine for ages i dont think i will get as good a yield as you because of my 10 litre pot - and get this just been looking in my storage shed and theres a bloody 15 litre bell pot hidden behind the christmas tree box! Typical, the only reason my BB is in a 10 litre is i had to transplant and wasn't able to get to the nearest garden centre for like 2 weeks - typical, that bell pot would have sweet - just a thought, can you transplant 3 weeks into flowering?

Up date on the way - off to take pics!!!

I forgot to talk about my babies - the grown ups speak for themselves but the babies in my cabinet need a few words of explanation:

the biggest plants in there are big bang 2 and 3, they have been grown from seed and are 4.5 weeks old, they have been started in allmix and perlite which was too hot for them - i learnt this from my first big bang plant but mistook some soil mix i had in a bag in my shed thinking it was seedling compost and perlite - when i found the bag of seedling compost and perlite a week later i realised my mistake. anyway after the early nute burn they are now pulling through nicely. BB2 was FIMMED a week ago and is now showing the new tops coming through - well pleased.

the 2 clones that rooted first have really shocked me, they took 2.5 weeks to show roots through the peat pellets but now look amazing 8 days since planting into seedling compost.

the other 2 clones that rooted 3 days after the first 2 i have decided to do a little experiment on - the BB clone has gone into a pot of soil and perlite and the WW clone has been put into my first attempt at a hempy pot - just perlite with a hole 2" up from the bottom for excess drainage.

im sure i will think of more to write but for now thats it.

please let me know if you see any issues with my grow.

thanks.

Hey EA,

Sorry for not commenting for a while, I have been hovering but not posting.... Your babies are looking sweeeeeeeeet.. gonna be some harvest that bruv! :weed:
Clones are looking good too!

My father inlaw has been banging on about the auto's for an outdoor summer grow.... White Moscow and blueberry are the only ones that have caught my eye...

Anyone noticed that Barney's Farm are discontinuing loads of there strains including Red Dragon and G13 Haze ?? They were 2 that I was interested in growing too!

Anyway, I thought I'd post a couple of my pics to show you how mine are getting on!
The budding girl is "Our" Beauty "Big Bang" She's 7 weeks in bloom on wednesday (I'm chopping after 8 weeks this time round as my birthday is coming up and I can't be without bud on my birthday!!) The other 1 has only been in 12/12 for a week, but she is a Honey B clone (Only 14 weeks left for her, LOL)

And in the PC case (Not pictured) I've got CH9 Super Haze (doing very well) and I've got a Blue Cheese clone (Having PH problems, but it should pull through)

:peace::twisted:

nice one red - lovely plant that is matey, know what you mean about the birthday bud - dont blame you for chopping but have you seen grow for joes thread and the 2 girls he had - one left for 11.5 weeks and the other chopped at 8.5 weeks, big difference in final result from the longer flowering lady (Big Bang - by the way!)

why not chop a few of the lower nugs and keep your top going for a littttttllllleeee big longer as Arjan puts it in the GHS vids!!

Barneys - cheap beans???? im on it........

PS. about the harvest - yeah im looking forward to it but also know that theres alot that could still go wrong between now and then!!!! but hopefully it will keep me in percy for a long while to come!!

and the clones - chuffed is all i cn say - especially after my first efforts!! HA-HA, success.

hello mate - thanks for stopping by, what to expect..........

dense thick foliage, very bushy plant is the big bang, smell like green apples when flowering and can be a big yielder if grown right.
The plants can be chopped after 8 wks flowering but given an extra 2/3 wks will make a massive difference to the taste of the smoke and intensity of the high, this is what i have heard not experienced as im yet to harvest mine - about 6 wks and counting!!!!

anyway - whats your setup, light, soil etc?

Yeh, I'll 2nd this comment!... But saying that, I chopped my other 1 at 7 weeks (due to deficiencies) and it was still abit of a head knocker and still tastes quite fruity!

So, The question is.... Would we grow "Big Bang" again ????
I am for sure !!! Easy to grow, nice fruity/skunky smell, fairly easy to clone! Mine in the most recent pick is my clone and it had 2 weeks veg and it still gonna produce a nice yeild!
They would be perfect for SOG method, which is what I may do when I grow big bang again!! :weed:

sup EA can't wait to see how your harvest turns out. i'll be cheering for them.
cheers bruv, the only probs i have at the minute are a lack of veg space - my cabinet crew are rapidly outgrowing the space their in so im in a bit of a dilema:

i have 2 areas - room on 12/12 - cabinet on 18/6.
my 2 x BB plants in the cab are ready for bigger pots but i dont have the room for bigger pots in the cab so if i transplant them then will have to be put straight into flower room and wont reach their potential - ideally they would spend a week or 2 in bigger pots then switch to flower.

any advice?

oh and the flowering BB is rather yellow today so i will give her a large dose of biobizz grow with her next water.

other than that things are sweet - i have LST'd my best widow clone and the other widow clone is looking very nice in the experimental hempy pot - although im not seeing a difference in growth rate between her and the BB clone that was transplanted at the same time as the Widow but into a soil pot.

cheers.

EA.

PS. will try and take some pics later on.

Took a couple of days coming in and out, but just read your whole thread dude, and it's very interesting. I'm about three weeks in to my first grow which is big bang as well. My plants are still very small though. When you say 11 1/2 weeks or whatever, does that include veg? Here's my thread anyway, not much to show yet. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/304728-big-bang-first-grow.html
hello mate - nice to have you onboard, i have checked out your journal, nice one - i have written a load of info on there.

no 11 1/2 weeks is purely flowering time - veg is extra mate, you veg for as long as you want, jungle / bush or shrub? 3 months, 2 months, 2 weeks.

I'm new to the forum and scouting out people's grows. Pretty sweet journal you got going! I've done a lot of research so I'll try to help whenever possible, although I've only just started growing...

G'luck!
