I just received my 3 cfm vac Purge and the 2 gal chamber today, put them all together carefully and it seems the murcary meter isn't work when the pump is on and the oil doesn't seem to of change what so ever! So I'm wondering if I put the chamber together wrong or if one of the items I received doesn't work.

Are you closing the back fill valve?

Does it pull any vacuum at all?

What is your altitude?
It isn't pulling any altitude and yes I'm making sure the tube that is connected to one valve is open and I close the other one. That's why I'm confused too because the meter isn't moving at all

By altitude, I was referring to the elevation of your extraction site. You lose around an inch of Hg per 1000 feet because there is less atmosphere.

It ostensibly is a defective gauge, or defective pump if you are getting no gauge movement at all. If it were a leak, you should pull at least some vacuum.

Is there oil in the pump?

When you run the cycle does the pitch of the pump change with time, like it would if pulling a vacuum, or stay about the same? Does the lid grab during the vacuum cycle? Is there any backfill when you do open the backfill valve?

If you don't have another gauge, take the hose off and hold you finger over the pump intake to see if it is pulling down. Don't try to pull all the way down with your finger, lest you get a blood blister.

If the pump is good, the gauge is suspect.

Put some teflon on all fittings and tighten them hard. Check the pipe too if its clogged. Try disconnecting it all and see if it sucks your finger,

Its not something stupid, like a valve on the pump outlet (inlet being a vac but yeah) right?

Just sayin'...... I have had those days.... (And mine has such a valve, I run it @ like 60% open cuz its a 5cfm 2 stage, and I have imploded a pyrex dish once already, lol)

(Also, you DID close the inlet side on the chamber... right?)

Wheres the cute little white air filter that goes on ur chambers manifold, opposite the vac line? You dont wanna suck in nasties....

Make sure that sides valve is closed (right angle with flow)
Close vac line side as well....
Connect and turn on vac pump. (Should be oil filled already at this point, if not, do so!)
Slowly open the valve on the vac line side... should see pressure almost instantly. Get to 10ish, close valve. Wait and watch a few seconds, to make sure your seal is solid. Made need to press down on the lid(happens), or adjust the orange band(rare). If seal is good.... let 'er rip.... (By that I mean slowly open vac line valve, and watch the bubbles, dont let anything touch the walls/top!)

When ur maxed out, close the valve, OFF the pump, and REMOVE the vac hose from the chamber.... (You only need one time of fucking up to learn this one, vac pump oil + BHO = tears)

You will need to top off the vac pressure as it extracts the butane into gas.... for best results, I find a seedling mat to provide the perfect temp for oil under full vac to turn into shatter.... just set ur chamber on it.

Remember even with the vac chamber, proper BHO is gonna take days to fully purge.... Takes over a week for me, cuz I winterize n purge again.....

Pretty high so I am rambling, but if ya have questions, I have home user level experience with simple closed column n shatter chambers....

Yes, using only puretane and a vac oven is preferred (safest!) but some of us are ballers on a budget, lol.

(invest in the puretane, I ran my first batch the other day with it finally.... noticeably better than any other brand...)

And if you haven't... you may need to snip the tip of the nipple on top of ur vac gauge... So sayeth the sticker on the gauge....

My lid was not fully sealed all taken care of now thanks for the advice tho! I need to get something that can keep my oil at a decent temp to keep purging
