Very nice those are the two barney strains I was looking at along with LSD.
Can't wait to see turnout, 6weeks on that VK?
Hey there Tagh! Great to see a fellow Canadian grower following along!!

I had a few LSD seeds late last year but they didn't germ properly and I ended up losing them along with a few Red Cherry Berry and Sweet Tooth seeds as well...I think I was just trying to do too much all at once though. I've found that for me, it pays to focus on just 1 or 2 strains at a time and then it's easier to give the appropriate attention to them and the different specific amounts of water/nutes etc...but i'm just babbling again...lol

Being at the end of week 3 of flower, I'm thinking these girls have at least 6 weeks left, more likely 7 or even 8 more weeks....basically whatever they need to finish is what they'll get...but I plan to start the next round either next weekend or mid-week after that.... :leaf:

Very Nice, I just managed to get a hold of some MrNice Black Widow, Medicine Man and Shark Shock so ill probably be going with these strains for a bit now.
I was planning on picking up VK until I finally managed to get them Mr Nice. My fourth strain will be White Russian from Serious Seeds.

I'm pretty pumped for that, White Widow, White Rhino, Great White Shark and White Russian :-D
Im probably going to go with 4 2x2 tables and separate reservoirs so I can tend to each. One large table for veg however.
As you I'm babbling on lol.
Keep it up still excited for turnout, though it might not be a couple years before I manage to get to the VK now lol. :weed:

That's awesome Wiz! This strain really took off about 3 weeks into veg and I hardly used any veg nutes as they didn't appear to need any - but this is a soil grow, so i'm sure you'll find out what they like in hydro! :joint: I'm pretty convinced that using rainwater is the way to go - no need to pH adjust it and i've gotten really healthy, fast growing plants using it. Hopefully we'll get enough rain this spring/summer to keep the girls happy!

I haven't been able to find many other VK grows online yet, so when you get going you'll have to put up some pics!

Welcome aboard! :leaf:
Yea man I cant wait it will be my first try with barneys farm. I have actually read a few bad things about them but there are always haters out there for anything. your babes are looking super healthy i cant wait to see them put on the weight haha. Yea if u want check out my last grow..ull see that im all about the pics..try page 11 i know thats a good one. Thats DNA's chocolope, I had a really good experience with them. Kewl Wiz - I'll take a look at your chocolope journal, that strain has caught my attention a few times so it'll be nice to see how it looks through an entire grow! =)

Barney's is the shiznit - never had any problems with the 4 strains i've tried so far and they all have shown great genetics and decent yields considering my experience level (beginner).

I've noticed that the VK does indeed stretch quite alot during the first few weeks of flower, but that's nothing unusual for most strains. You'll see in my pics that there are a few plants that really kept some tight nodes - one of the plants stayed considerably shorter than the rest and I had to prop it up on a styrofoam block to keep it's top level with the other plant it's sitting beside. I've tried to keep from raising my lights too much and actually didn't have to raise them much, as the tallest tops are kept to the edges so they reach up beside the light's cooltube and are not burned by the light as long as they're not touching the glass.

Got some more pics coming shortly. Enjoy, and thanks for the kinds words and encouragement! :leaf:

:leaf: Here's another pic update! :leaf:

The ladies are looking fabulous - more and more and more white hairs every day! They all got their rainwater this evening along with a good dose of flower nutes and Nirvana.

At this point, I'm expecting them to go a full 10 weeks before they're ready... enjoy!

:leaf: The first 4 weeks of flowering are now over and the girls got a fresh watering this evening to celebrate. I didn't give them too much water, so the next watering day will be mid-week and they'll get more flowering nutes along with their first taste of molasses.

I've been experimenting with some of my side-branches and twisting the stems to try and encourage them to draw more nutrients to repair the 'twist-stress' and build bigger side-branch buds in the process....we'll see if it helps. =) I've taken out more bottom trim and small branches this time 'round, so that should also increase my overall yield I think. My goal is to get at least 1.5 oz per plant this time - I think a few of them will actually be close to 2 oz which would be progress for me for sure! :weed:

Okay, here's my pic update - until next week, enjoy the bud pron!! :leaf:

Cool man, got any pics of them? =)

I have my 5x Pineapple Chunk seeds soaking as well as 1x The Church at the moment - they'll most likely be cracked and planted into pucks by the weekend...round 5 coming soon! :weed:

Niceeeeeeeeeeee man thanks for sharing. Which one is Crimea blue?
The Crimea Blue plant is not is that last pic update - just the VK. The CB is doing great though - found one of her stems bent completely over when the lights came on this evening! Got'er all staked up now!

got a vanilla kush freebe from attitude cant wait to grow it
For sure man - very vigorous strain so far - quite impressed! The buds are a bit on the 'leafy' side, but we'll see how they finish out.

You canadians are the coolest people on the planet. We've been on our bikes to all the provinces. Love Labrador. Anyway, thanks for posting about VK, I have some in the mail. Looks like it grows to a manageable size. Has it kept most of it's first leaves?

Hey Scarlet - these girls have suffered some yellowing to the early leaves and first ones lower down on the stems. I've had to trim some because of this, but I'm concentrating on the top 9-10" of the plants though, so I'm not too worried. If they go 9 weeks then i'm already over half-way done, so I'm expecting them to be more difficult to keep a crisp green anymore at this point. The buds are really going 'crazy' right now and starting to get denser as they fill out...so many white hairs everywhere that it's difficult to see the bud developing below all the white. I'm excited to see how they turn out though, and I've just started in with the molasses now as well.

The size is indeed manageable - The last few grows I've done, giving an early LST seems to allow for a good 4-5 strong large tops and keep within 3-3.5 feet in height. This works well for me since I don't have to raise my lights as much and can get a better yield with a more even canopy. I haven't tried using a screen yet, but it's worked out well without it. If i'm getting around 1.5 oz per plant then I consider it quite successful considering my pot size....

Got my Pineapple Chunk seedlings started this weekend as well (x4) - also a GHS 'The Church' planted but hasn't cracked the surface yet (it cracked during papertowel germination but didn't open up as far as the others so it's a bit slower) They are looking great so far and I expect them to go into the 6" pots by Monday or Tuesday (2-3 days). The PC seeds came in a 5 pack but 1 didn't germinate - I have it soaking in a shot-glass now but I don't think it's viable..floated longer than the others and it looks kinda pale (not mature enough)...if it doesn't work out, I also have a 'Dutch Passion Blueberry' seed waiting on deck...we'll see. =) :leaf:

How's that for an update! :weed:

That's an update! Yeah, I'm just hoping to keep all my leaves as long as possible, but I can see they're going to struggle for enough light. Shoulda listened to what mama said and just got a 600w instead of 400W. Next grow I'll be using two 400w for sure.

Nice grow! Are you getting any kind of vanilla smell off the plants yet? I'm very interested to see how these plants finish up and looking forward to a smoke report.

Cool man - the girls will appreciate the extra light! :joint:

No vanilla smell, nope. The best way I can describe the smell is 'fresh' kind of citrusy smell. I have a carbon filter in my flowering tent that absorbs most of the odor though, so it's not really strong. :weed:

Hey Hey! looks like im just a little late, but im here now... A true voyeur!
Welcome man - enjoy! The best is yet to come! :leaf:
