can i run 8inch duct threw all the lights have one end sucking air from outside and have the other end pushing it out with inline fans helping move it and with air conditioning in the room. its winter and snowing will the cold air and ac keep that many lights and room cool or do i need something else? should i convert the 8inch light flange to a ten inch?bongsmilie

I think that the heat form 20k watts world require more than a 8in air cooled hood. the Best way would be to liquid cool the lights but that gets very expensive. If i were useing 20k watts for 12 hrs a day my first concern would be the power bill. you will use a few thousand dollars worth a month. but if you only lined up about 4 lights in a row and used a 8in fan and ducting and air conditioned the room, i suppose it could be done.

i also think that you should be careful with the heat exaust form the lights. you would have to funnle it out of the chimney or cool it before you let it get outside. Especially if you live in a city where the police have a infared video cameras. You said there would be snow outside so it would be very easy for the camera to pick up the heat signal. where i live in CA, the local police can actually get a search warrent if they find "excessive" heat inside my house.

Cooling that many lights would be very tricky. It would kinda depend on how you have your room setup. No matter how many fans you add, if they are all connected the cool air would become very hot after it passed through just a few lights and no longer be very helpful. You would probably want no more than 4 lights in a row like said before. You could possibly run a main duct for intake on one side and another for exhaust on the other and tap into them for your different rows. Here's a small diagram, not perfect, lol, but you get the idea.

No offense, but IMO, if you have to ask that question and you are really going to be trying to go this big, you're not ready for such a project. Good luck nonetheless.:peace:

Well seeing as how the OP is clearly either a cop or a 15 year old, I don't think that heat signatures are relevant to him/her in either case.

i would say have a portable a/c like in the pic per ten lights with a 8" centrifugal high cfm pulling the air through it.. that should work
