What does everyone use to protect their privacy? There are tons of services out there some say they keep data log somewhere on the interweb and some done keep logs at all which is what I am looking for. I'm assuming I will have to pay for a descent one monthly and I'm ok with that. I have a Tor browser but I have read that is not enough to search some things on the internet. Thanks all

Here's what I know about encryption.. The day to day civilian can't do much to another civilian or institution with proper encryption..BUT,the us govt can...
There are laws requiring all codes and encryptions be 'crackable' or translation keys on file by the govt..in turn, the govt has its own encryption technology that is not availabile to the public,ALTHOUGH, the same technology may be public in another country..meaning its just for uncle Sam in the states..but China might be using the same technology for public affairs security..
So,if you're hiding top secret company files like in a movie, average Joe can't crack the admin code..uncle Sam has the codes cracked and on file...
Safe from ALMOST everything...
This may be a publicly known or little known bit of info,I got it from a friend who works closely with the govt and his company involving communications..he explained it after I got an encryption text app for my phone...

Unless you're getting into some serious serious shit I wouldn't bother too much with VPN's, most of them claim full privacy / anonymity and while they may help a bit they're not exactly a full-proof thing. I only use Tor and PGP encryption when doing certain things, I don't find a whole lot of point in going further than that.

install tails on a usb stick. it's sort of like a portable operating system that can fit in your pocket. feds could seize your computer and they'd find nothing. if they find your usb stick that's a different story.

I would not recommend TOR browser.. Just check out the details of IPVnaish that does not keep logs, reliable, fast, easy to use and compatible with windows, iOS and Android

Make sure your persistent drive is well encrypted!

They do have limits on how much encryption they can break. When they busted DPR the whole thing was setup to grab his computer while it was running unencrypted for just that reason. Not saying they couldn't have gotten it if he had closed it but it would have taken a lot more time.

Pgp sounds interesting. I feel a little safer looking for recipes if I'm attempting to hide. The dark web can be like a gold mine too
