Got a crop about to be done, should have a ton of trim. Wondering what is the best (easy, cheap, safe) way to make concentrates? Friends make ISO anjd Butane hash and both are good but ive heard butane is dangerous to use, is ISO or bubble hash as good a bang for the trim?

iso is so disgusting in my experience, I have also heard that it isn't good for you if they don't get all the alcohol out. BHO is really not where someone who doesn't know how to process it properly should go either.

Make some butter and some cookies and call it a day.

Dry sift it then bubble hash it. Easy and no risk of explosions or chemicals/etc.

What im saying is for a person new to concentrate making i always suggest starting at the easiest route. The only point youve made that i agree with is chemical extraction is not sonething just anybody should be doing. There are alot of people putting out residual loaded bho. That doesnt mean there arent people who love bho extracting as much as you love dry sifting and put in the extra effort to put out clean product. But once again this argument was never about bho
Is better then drysift , it was about your attitude and way of interacting with people

Vegetable glycerin extract is pretty amazing...so far. I made my first batch and everyone loves it. You can put it in dropper bottles for absorption right under the tongue for an immediate high and the more typical smoking effect, or you can put it into gelatin capsules, swallow it, and get a longer lasting and more mellow effect with pain relief and sedation like if you ate a cookie.

Get some food grade vegetable glycerin (I got mine at whole foods, 16oz $10). I used about 80g of trim, as that was all I could fit in my crockpot and cover with the glycerin. You will want to decarboxylate (activate) your trim: look it up for the best results (put your trim on a cookie sheet with the oven at about 240 for about a half hour. seriously though, read up on it, there are other temperature settings and times you can use)

Using a blender to chop up your trim has two benefits: 1) it makes it finer and easier to cover and 2) you'll get to scrape some badass kief out of the base of your blender.

Cover the trim with glycerin in a small crockpot with a 'keep warm' setting. leave it on for 24hours, stirring it frequently.

Strain the trim with cheesecloth.

Funnel it back into the glycerin bottle for storage or fill dropper bottles.

Gelatin capsules can be purchased at vitamin stores, but fill them as needed or on a semi-daily basis because they can deteriorate over about a week.

I love ISO and you can absolutely get the alcohol out. works great in g-pens or drizzled over a bowl, on the tip of a joint, or even hot knifed www.brainresin.com you can skip the pressure cooker and make a water bath with an electric frying pan and a 9x9 dish....just put it near the window with a fan on, please! collecting your alcohol for future use is possible, but for me it was a real pain, so I ditched the pressure cooker. The double coffee filter is not so important, but filtering it at least once is necessary if you want to make candy out of it. After searching all over for 99% alcohol and not wanting to order it online, I finally found some at a pharmacy supply store. Hairdresser supply stores also have it, but you need some sort of hairdresser secret handshake to get in.

Here's some pictures of most of the process...The picture of the hash with the bubbles in it is not when it is done. Let it cool, scrape it all around, heat it up, repeat until you have gotten all of the alcohol out, the hash should not run when cool and you hold the pan up. I started with the brain resin instructions years ago and have adapted to this. Good Luck!

^^^^^^^^ that looks dirty as hell. very dark for iso. the frying pan method doesn't do anything. iso, bho, co2 extracts all need to be purged in a vacuum oven for 36-48 hours.

stick with icewacx or hash people

aren't you just a ray of sunshine on an otherwise cloudy day? Thanks for your input, work on your delivery and people might listen to you! :-)

I'm not going to beat around the bush and hold your hand. I'm a be blunt and straight forward. You don't want some one telling you its perfect. When your'e doing a half ass method that doesn't yield quality results no matter how you spin it.

I only make bubble with my trim.. I also work with a bho maker for socal seeds and a couple collectives. I recently started making their ice wax and hash. I know what it takes to make almost clean proper wax. It cost the same as a car to get setup to make solvent extracts. But its impossible to make 100% clean solvent extracts. There will always be a residual of harmful contaminants in solvent extracts.

Ahhh, the assumption that your opinion was wanted! So what you are saying, if I am not mistaken, is that people should certainly buy from you.

ORRRRRRRRR. what you are saying is that if you don't want to spend as much as a small car go spend 15 dollars on a frying pan. Golly, considering I spent $5000 less I'm pretty happy with how it looks....but I would like to see what $5000 cleaner stuff LOOKS like since you pointed out how bad mine LOOKED.

a frying pan wont purge or clean solvent extracts. all chemicals, gases, and alcohol take 36-48 hours to purge at 85-90 degrees. you need to heat up the extract in the vacuum oven for an 30 min to an hour before you turn on the vacuum. Or you killed your product.

last bho we made banana og with a closed loop system and a vacuum oven

last hash I made 9lb hammer with ice, water, bubblebags and a portable washing machine.

last ice wax I made, quantum kush , plushberry mixed.

with bubble the color is dependent on genetics and dryness.

Solvent extracts, the darker the more contaminated.

yep, a batch will take you a good 24-36 hours of heating, cooling, and manipulating (heating to about 210) to get it where you want it. Even after that you'll want to let it sit another 24 hours. Or, you can buy it from the dispensary for $40-60/g....I like $1/g.

The bho looks super clear....like it always does, but I'm not making bho. So it's the second and third pictures that are cleaner than my iso. And the color of my iso is determined by residual alcohol...news to me.

I am going to have to stop you right there, that is not the case with solvent extracts. Color is determined by a few different factors, Heat, age of material, and how long it flower for.
