Best use of 3'6"x3'6" space?

I'm flowering in a 3' 6" square space (old shower stall). I'm currently using a 600w HPS light, and growing 5 skunks in 3 gal. pro-mix. Using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro + Liquid karma nutes.

5 plants is a tight fit, but so far they don't show any signs of over crowding. They're in the 3rd week of flowering atm.

My question is: what is the most efficient use of this confined space? For example, I could fit 9 smaller (2 gal) containers and do a SOG or something. Or would hydro boost my production any?

i can fit 30 i gallon grow bags in my 2.25x5 area. get anywere from and ounce to two from a rooted clone w/ 1 week veg time. Got a 600 hps on a mover w/ a 6" inline fan so i could keep it inches away, I do 6-8. First pic is of 2 different strains, 7 rows of 4 and one row of 2 in the far back. The rest are the 17 females from those strains until now. 6 weeks veg 4 weeks into flowering:bigjoint:

Hey thanks for the reply... we have almost the same amount of square footage, so I should be able to do (at least) 30 bags as well if I went that route. And at 1-2 oz. each that's 2-4 lbs. krikey!

Its hard to say how much I will get from this first grow, but I'd be stunned if it were anywhere near that amount.

How do you water those? I'd assume you have some sort of drip system because that would be a pain in the ass. Its also a pain for me... I have to pull my plants out to get to the back ones each watering.

Well its a "secret" room with a 2x4 door hidden behind wall paneling. I have to remove them to water and yes it is a HUGE pain in the ass. I try to keep them all on the same schedule. If most are dry then i water. Even if some are not quite ready. No ill effects. Almost 10 years in the same little space. Man i can't wait to have a huge room where i can walk around. But i guess that the price we have to pay in the is phony war on pot. It's usually a perpetual harvest. I do about 6-10 at a time. So it devides my room into 3 stages. Harvest about once a month.

How much do you get each harvest?

I really like your setup and have been thinking about it. The only drawback I see is getting that many clones. How many mothers do you have and how many clones are taken at a time? I think for my next grow I might go up to 9 plants. Veg for maybe 2 weeks then put them in for flowering.

i usually run two mothers at a time. Before this recent grow from the pics i had 2 mothers in a 2x2 room. Had them a little over a year. I would take between 6-10 clones at a time every 3 weeks. Note time is not specific to the day, about 3 weeks. My mothers stay in 5 gallon bags. You can replace mothers with a clone as needed. i dont completly hack them till there complety bare. My mothers are on the same feeding schedule as all my girls. WATER--FEED--WATER. Preferably feed once every 7-10 or whenever they need it. But its always water-feed-water. Perpetual harvest take a little time to get used to. But in time you will master it. Like i tell all my friends, "it's as much work as you want to make it". You could harvest every week or day if you wanted. You just have to set up right and put in the work. Me i like once a month, it's not to much work. Hope this helps and if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.

oh i harvest anywhere from an ounce to 2 ounces per plant. This depends on strain, light, nutes, expiernce and of course the rest of the envrioment. generaly in a SOG you should expect between 15-90 grams. Over the years I have found it's more practical to grow many small plants VS a few big ones.

I'm in the same boat you were, my space is almost the size and I'm also using a 600w HPS. My first grow in this space I grew 4 plants in 3gal pots, ocean forest, full line of ff nutes and got a total of 8oz total. This time I decided to try it with the same nutes and same size pots, but this time with 9 plants, to see if more plants that receive less light penetration could out produce less plants with more penetration.

I'm in the fourth week of flowering and I feel like I could use more light, but that could because I vegged them for a little over 30 days and they are kind of big. I also rotate them every few days so all parts of the plant get light.

My first grow is from seed (skunk), but I have a Blueberry mother almost ready for her first clones. (At least I hope its a mother ) I have room for 2 mothers easily, so that's good news. I figure I'll clone each of them 2-3 times and then flower them for a mega-plant.
