i vote training is better, cause u get a lower profile u get more tops (i can get only tops if i do it right), and it takes less time in veg cause it never has to regrow

do both..ive fim'd my plant and got between 4 and 6 heads and i trained it. now there are 14 growing tops. theres a video on youtube called training cannabis live, it shows you how to LST and top.

trust me i have "spoon" fed my share of people... 1 more wont hurt... To me i want everyone to be able to grow this shit good and free.... That way they leave mine alone...LOL

So essentially, for topping you cut the main stem? With my luck.. the plant would go "Fuck you" and die. lol

Is there a thread on training? I've tried searching for it but nothing really helpful pops up.. the search function on this forum isnt that great from what I've seen lol. Took me forever to find a thread on topping. And then I found it in the advanced sections sticky. I need to control the size of my plant, it's about a foot tall right now and I have limited space. A quick reference to a "how to" for training would be nice. Im fairly new to plants but I can learn quickly.

i got 2 plants (@4.5wk veg from seedling) atm that i topped using uncleben's method (stickied at the top of this forum), then when they had grown for a few days and i had 4 main branches, i tied them down below gradually untill the tips were no longer the highest point of each branch, LST style, causing accelerated side growth, and shorter internodal space too i'm sure..
well, 1 of them is in a 30l pot now, and the other will be xplanted from 15l-30l pot asap, and what i have now are two low, bushy beauties with a whole heap of growing tips and an even canopy - it doesnt take much work to adjust the ties either.. delaying flowering (i reckon i still need another week or so veg) is agony tho.
now i'm only on my 2nd grow and havent topped before, but be carefull - i have 2 other plants that i topped a little earlier than advised - this shocked the plants a little much and i musta lost about a week of growth.. they're fine now, but i cant help thinking that if i'd waited then they'd be substantially bigger by now.
for training, search "delta9's low stress training/LST" or similar btw
hope this helps

The question of "when" comes up often, as I explained in my topping stickie. It's almost an art which comes easy after you get a couple of grows under your belt. If you look at page one, you'll see no slow down in the rate of growth. There is no "shock" involved if the seedling is growing well and you wait until about the 6th node before pinching out growth above the 2nd node.

Glad to see "my method" worked out well for you.

Good luck,
UB
