Hey Guys,

I am looking for a good LED grow light to use in my 8' x 8' grow space. I want a full spectrum light. I was thinking of getting this:

http://www.topledgrowlight.com/mars-ii-1600w-led-grow-light.html#.VB3g1pSwK3t

This is my first indoor grow and I wanted to do a run between now, and outdoor next year. I will be doing an organic grow in soil. After harvesting that grow I would like to veg the outdoor plants under the lights and then put them outdoors to flower next year.

Does anyone have experience with this light or another LED option? Any help is appreciated.

When it comes to LEDs you get what you pay for..do yourself a favor and google "740nm good for plants" which is far red in the spectrum. if you want optimized results...I use Hydro Grow Leds you can see my grows in my thread . but you choose whats best for you in your situation. but do your own research. peace

I would go to the subforum right at the top of this forum and look. Hundreds of threads with much better suggestions than "TopLed"

When looking at any of these cheap Chinese panels, their terrible inefficiencies(generic encapsulated led s) means that hid will blow them out of the water at little up front cost; save your money IMO.

Even in 2014 to get hid results @ 3/4 of the wattage used with quality pre-built led fixtures for your area(8x8 ) spending at a minimum $ 5500 easy. That's the reality of it atm.

If you must have reduced wattage and longevity@a reasonable cost== 4-6 330w Phillips all-start CMH bulbs over your area will do that for you at $150 per piece(with mag MH ballast included)

Good luck grower

Thank you for all your responses, I am leaning toward some of the quality more costly LED's at this point. I have several emails into US companies. My primary reason for the LED lights is the running cost....

PSUAGRO, Have you used both LED and CMH? So you are saying if I were to buy a higher quality LED that it will do just as good as CMH?

GrowinDad, You have used them and they suffered? Could you elaborate on that with your experience?

Yes, I've used everything except mh/sulfur plasma.

Beating the best CMH bulb(Phillips 315w elite agro) is no easy feat even with the top led gear.

Apache tech led ...great
Area 51 led......great
Onyxbloom......Good for the money.
Alta led.....use their own in house US made cobs, not proven though. Also $2600 for 300w fixtures is ridiculous.

Good luck

As you get deep into flower, the leaves die and yield suffers. I have a cheapo red-blue 50w LED. i keep one plant under it in my flower tent as an extra in a one gal pot. I also keep an extra one gal that is under my A51. At harvest, huge diff between the two.

PSU, where the love for the SPYDR 600?

BML SPYDR 600 covers 4 x 4 nicely, but 3 x 3 better ($999)

They are introducing a 1000 VHO

See my last and current reveg using it

I am also in possession of a new panel designed by a mj grower- Amare Technologies Solar Spec

website not live, but you can see pics in my threads

There are 3-4 other grows on other sites using them

One posted pics in my thread
