Best strategy for 1000w 16 plant 4x4 SOG? Need good advice/tips

Hi, I am currently on day 6 of flowering in my grow. I have 16 GHS Super Bud feminised seeds growing without any topping or LST under a 1000w hps with cool tube. I have them in 2 gallon pots with FFoF soil. I use Fox Farm nutes every other watering starting from when I flipped the lights back. I started flowering when each was about 4-6 inches tall.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had any good info or strategies they could share to maximize my yield. Should I just let them all grow? Should I pick any fan leaves to emphasize cola growth? Any ideas are welcome....thanks

same setup, im going this route also with 16 og kush come this weekend when i harvest my 23 auto lemon haze, maybe veg for longer til 10-12'' and use half strength nutes tuesday thursday and just water on saturday. I have great results with this.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any past experience with 16 plants in a 4x4? How were the results if so? How was the side braching?

i do have exp with 16 plants but it was 12/12 from the day the clones rooted in rockwool, branches become a bitch and u find yourself spinning the pots around so more get light. Results was good though, it was 16 white rhino i took them to 8 weeks flower and got 29oz dried from the SOG, honestly have your light as close as possible and top them all to the same height or you will be kicking and screaming come week 4-5 when you may have to chop a few main colas down that dont even have close to half the weight on them as they would if you top them all to the same height

wow 29 0z! haha great results. I hope I can get anything close to that. So you don't think I should let them grow straight up? That is what I was planning to do but if it negatively affects the grow I may have to consider otherwise. How far do you keep your light? I have my 1000w at about 18 inches above at the moment.

1000w hps, bulb is on its first grow and i keep it 12'' away, but i also have a cool tube. If your running straight bulb id say 16-18 is good. Ya let them go straight up but you may need to top them. Go on the TUESDAY THURSDAY feeding and SATURDAY watering and you will see what you can pull off. My Step dad has 30 12/12 from seed in a 4x4 and space isnt much of an issue you just cant really see whats going on lol

Oh I see, I do have a cool tube with a 440 cfm sucking air through it into my attic. So I will most likely start putting the light a bit closer. About the feeding schedule, that won't result in any sort of nute burn or overwatering? My pots aren't drying out to quick at this point.

either way do 2 feeds 1 water, to prevent nute burn 1/2 strength like i mentioned. If you want the most absolute best watering schedule, weigh your plants after a watering make sure there is lots of runoff and when the plant become 1/2 its initial wet weight, its time for another watering. Ask your local hydro or dispensery about it , they will tell you the exact same thing i told you. Its right out of Canna University San Jose. . .

Awesome, thanks for the info. But would you eventually move up to full strength? Or do you stick with half all the way through?

what are you guys using to ventilate the tents?

I have a 440 cfm exhaust fan sucking air into my attic through my cool tube and ducting.
