so this is my first post here on riu and i was wondering what strains would do good in canada. Planning on growing next season was looking at the package deal on nirvanas site the oldschool package with the 5 fem mk and the 5 fem swiss cheese if anyone has grown these strains before i would like to know how they did and if they are suitable for my area. If you know any good strains that are cold resistint or can take a little beating and good for beginers just leave a post and let me know please.

check out some BC seeds, timewarp, purple pineberry, blueberry, early girl are a few that will do you good and finish early with little work.
remember that research is crucial, check out the outdoor growing and newbie central forums,

ss early bud, early wonder skunk.
What he said, unless you live in Southern Ontario or either coasts you're very restricted. The VSB carries several strains for our climate. You really want something that finishes before mid Sept this far North the sunlight is too weak to have any affect after that. Autoflowering is almost a must.
Dr Greenthumb has several (very expensive) strains that might be of interest too, he lists his strains tolerance for spring & fall frost. His autoflowering Iranian is supposed to be spectacular if you like indicas.

That's righjt, they bloom when they reach a certain age so you don't want to start transplants too early. May 30th is the latest date for a spring frost so a week before that would be my suggestion.
That far South you you have a longer sunlight but frost is still a risk as early as Sept 1st unless you live real close to the Great Lakes. Then it's Oct 1st

Check out Dr Atomic he only does a few but they rock. NL is great as it is hardy and mold resistant and does not get too tall, 5 to 6 feet, in partial shade. I put them out late one year and didn't take them down till the last week in Oct. Good yield and very good smoke and easy to grow and the seeds are reasonable. If your close to TO they are a number of good places to get seeds. Ontario seed bank.

Nirvana's autos suck from what I hear. I think you're too far away to get the warming from the lake water. Check Enviroment Canada's web site for your area to get a better assesment. With climate change doing a number on everyone that's probably out of date now anyways.
Before you go propping up the Dutch economy with your seed order take a look at these guys seeds, very economucal & high quality (Made in Canada by Canadians):

Hey i live in Washington right next to canida. I grew some sweet purple last year it was a nice grow. If you are a beginer i would recomend northern lights for your area i would start your plants inside arowned may. There are many difrent strains you can get it all depends on what your looking for. do you life sativa or indica. do you like couch lock or upity high. there is alot we are missing to help you find the perfect strained it is all up to what you like the best.
