2 inches? Do you think it's really possible to get that much without any light? I know temps, moisture, and co2 are probably good... But I can't get over the light problem.

Seeds need darkness to germinate. I have 6 seeds that are germinating in complete darkness at the moment, 2 of them are at about 2.5 inches with no light at all. And are about to go into pots and under lights.

Seeds contain enough nutrients to get the seed sprouted and a few inches tall, with no light or other nutrients needed.

They've probably evolved this way so that they can get above the leaf matter and other foilage laying on the ground, and get up and above it to get the light they need.

yeah the pic was crazy, but isnt it possible that maybe a lil piece of one of those trees just found its way into his body and started fucking his lung up? It just couldnt grow INSIDE somebody...not saying its an intentional hoax, but they should try and explain how it sprouted and continued to grow....wheres the roots?

Why not? I think its highly unusual for a seed to sprout in a lung, but I can't actually think of any reason why it couldn't. Water, c02, oxygen, darkness, its got everything it needs. Heat is the only problem I can think of, most seeds wouldn't germinate at the termpreature of a human body (which I think is about 37c)

I thought it was a hoax until I saw the video and pics. I guess they could be fakes too, but if they are they went to a hell of an effort.

I understand that germ'ing doesn't need any light, i just always thought that after they poked through they needed some sort of light. Thanks for clearing that up though.
