Enjoy your weekend guys.
2.5 weeks, and we'll actually be closer to you than we will be to home. Decidedly oceanic.

I got to see The Wall when Floyd came to L.A. more moons ago than I can count without borrowing fingers and toes. One HELL of a show, and is partly why I don't want to see the movie, because I'm a little afraid it would ruin the experience of the show for me.

What kind of experimental? You mean along the lines of Einsturzende, Ministry, or...?

Anything really different really..
I just listened to Einsturzende and that is some weird shit, but it's definetly not the kind of music I was talking about..
It sounds like german chants over weird sounds
but I'll give it a 10 for weirdness :]
I guess I mean't more progressive than experimental any bands or groups that blend a lot of styles well or just push music creatively..
have you ever listened to genghis tron?

My favorite bands to listen to while flying at the moment are JESU and WEEN! Gotta say - my favorite pot song of all time is BLACK SABBATH'S "Sweet Leaf".

Lucky bugger! I was in the Rainforest in FNQ when Pink Floyd did their last tour in Australia. I was too far away and had no money to get down south. It was a damned shame.
The movie is something completely different to what I expected. However, it was pretty interesting in the way the album was interpreted.

I don't mind a bit of System of a Down either. My Lady turned me on to Mezmerize and I've been hooked ever since. Violent Pornography is one of my favourites...and Old School Hollywood.

Blues...JLH, The Backsliders (an Aussie Blues Band), Lil Ed and The Blues Imperials, Older Tom Waits.

The Santa Cruz Hemp Allstars are just trippy. I highly recommend them when you want to sit back and sink into some music that morphs itself over a an hour or so, sometimes more if you can rip it all onto your computer and listen to four hours of it.

System of a Down and ACDC are two bands that can get me motivated to do physical stuff when I need to.

My lady and I usually play Dark Side of the Moon at least twice a week when we're going to bed. It used to be *every* night.

But then, anything by Pink Floyd will do me. We have just about every album they've released.

In fact, I can listen to just about any genre except Country (and Western). I don't listen to, but like Willie Nelson because he is a man who stands up for the cause. John Williamson, an Aussie singer is also a country stoner, as is Lee Kernigan. But I still won't listen to their music. On occasion I like to listen to a couple of John Williamson's songs because he slip in a few references to weed in some of his songs. Check out, 'All Australian Boys Need a Shed', Give Me a Home Among The Gum Trees and 'Bill A Bong' if you're into country music.

Oh, and some of the classical composers were mad fucked up in the head. Just listen to some of it when you're wasted some time.:blsmoke:

I also love SoD. Holy Mountains is a good one, they are, in my humble opinion, a talented group.
