hello mates,

Ill be starting a Outdoor grow in Canada.

I hear alot about proMix HP but not sure why and what it compares to.

I will be using my own nutrients once a week and I am not sure the need for promix over other Canada soils.
Any help from my fellow Canadians would be great as I will be planting minimum 5 plants and max will be 20 depending on how many I Have by the time last frost is over.

I use Promixhp w/myco mixed with coir and more perlite.

Promixhp works perfect on its own.
Its the best because of its drainage and the added mycorrhizal fungi cultures make for a better healthier rootzone. They make nutrients readily availible and easier to uptake.

You dont use nutes? If not what are you averging per plant? I want to get 1 lb per plant.
I will be doing an outdoor scrog as well.

Thanks.
Ill pick it up somewhere where I can find it.
Price isnt the issue.

Also if you pot in the ground or in buckets and if so how many gallons? thanks. im a hydro guy not a soil guy just need a small bit of help.

Yeah you have to feed them! In the past ive always used slow release nutrients, Ie. AN heavy harvest, MG shake'n'feed. Growers 20-20-20.
This year im going the more organic route with
Gaia green and Alaska fish ferts and worm castings.

Promix is availible at any Rona. but its always about 3 bucks cheaper at the grow stores.

Last year i did a mix of cantainers and planting in the ground. For 1lb plants you will want a minimum 20gal containers

what strain(s) are you running? clones or from seed?

Thanks mate.

I am from seed unless my plants have enough clones.
I will be feeding them a lucas formula with maxibloom.
Also with your comparison. Is in the ground or in pots better?
I was mainly going to dig a hole and put promix into it.
I am running Cotton Candy. If my clones come through in time I will be running Purple Haze and Rogue Thunder as well.

Also ,does the size of the whole I I did make a difference with yield?

Appriciate your help.

this sounds interesting trippy :)

what are your plans for the outdoor scrog ?
Plans are;
Growing in the ground in a large hole with promix and extra perlite for drainage.
Maxibloom Feeding once per week. 14/-1/2 strength for a bit until they get larger.
Scrog using netting painted green to match the surroundings.
Minimum 5 plants.

you wont need perlite with just promixhp. i only add perlite because i mix in coir.

if you add perlite to promixhp by itself, you risk having your little roots dry out and if it gets hot in the summer youd be wattering twice a day.

you'll be good just digging a hole and filling it with promix. use a bail for 2.5 holes
Alright thanks mate.
How often do you water your plants?
I will look into that. I basically got the scrog down if I do that or I may just go supercrop.

No problem man, advice is free. Ive gotten alot if help on this forum so i have no problems spreading my litle bit of knowledge.

Mine are on drip every two days plus handwatering when needed and when adding extra nutes. Im gone 3weeks at a time so its harf to find the right balance for irrigation so my wife moniters and runs the zone manually if she sees them getting thirsty or during a heat wave.
it gets really hot where i live with very little rain. so its all about finding a balance that works for your climate.
Good luck in your outdoor adventure. Feel free to check out my thread and follow my progress this year.

trippy:)

why don't you slow down abit and learn how to grow healthy seedlings first before you get too deep into it .

your giving advice in an other thread AGAIN about something you've no idea about then asking others about the advice you've just given. Again trippy.

if you go back to your first tread when you joined RIU , then see the advice you've been giving people ..... Its madness trippy and you need to slow down or smoke some weed or something.

slowdown and learn how to grow , iv given you tons and tons of good sensible sound advice yet you continue asking the same questions then end up saying " nah im done with soil, im a hydro guy" ...... And now your an organic outdoor guru !!

your profile page says " a conisiour of cannabis " and brag about how much research you've done yet you fail the most important part of being able to actually grow a seed correct ...... Slow the fuck down .

just saying :) but if you think you've got it in hand then good luck to you honestly trippy .. Good luck :)
