Best set-up for my goal

I would like to be able to grow enough so that I have a continuous source for rosin; based on the frequency of my dispensary visits and 710 List deliveries, and assuming a yield of 10-12%, I figure I need six pounds a year for squishing. I am in a legal state, and have an 8'x6' area on which to set-up my grow; would prefer not to use all of that space. I would be starting with soil in order to keep things simple; planning on using LED and looking very hard at Timber, so any suggestions based around their lights would be very helpful.

Originally I was planning on a 4x4 or 5x5 tent with the appropriate sized light, but begin thinking that perhaps two 4x2 tents - one veg, one flower - might be better for a variety of reasons (perpetual harvest, correct spectrum for each, ease of access - I have a shitty back and the knees aren't much better).

One thing I'm unclear on - is there a general rule as to how much space around the tent is needed to accommodate accessories? Would a 5x5 need 6x6 of space to account for ducting/etc.? Exhaust will be ducted through the ceiling and then a short way to a vent in the eaves; planning on filters on both intake/exhaust.

Any suggestions/info would be much appreciated; thanks!

Timber lights are awesome. I have a 4vs kit going on over 4 yrs. It in my 1mx1m flower tent
Chat with Dan from timber. He’s great to deal with. I want to try their crypress lights one day. Side by side compare it with my vero29s

As for tent size. I’d definitely go with a larger flower tent then your veg tent. I have a 20”x36”x63” Visiosun veg tent. It matches great with the flower tent. One full veg tent fills the flower tent perfectly after the stretch I find.

You could do a 2x4veg and a 4x4 flower. Still have room for all your other equipment.

6-8lb a year I think, depending on how you do things.

I have 3500k in the veg tent and 3000-3500k mix in the flower tent.

Could do a combo tent to save space too?

I think a Redwood VS 3000k in a 4x4 and a 2VL 3500k in a 2x4. You would be laughing all the way to Nug smashing heaven.

Thanks for the input! A total footprint of 4x6 is doable in the space I have to work with. Timber seems to have quite a few options, and I like supporting local businesses.

With 2x4 for veg and 4x4 for flower, how many plants would be the right amount? I believe each adult is limited to six, so should be good for 12 for the house.

You could run 6 flowering and 6 vegging and do a big harvest every 10ish weeks.

Or you could start a seed/clone every time you move a plant or two into flower and have a small harvest every 2-3 weeks. This is more work but is fun for a bit if you like trying a bunch of different stuff out.

I have a 4 plant limit so I flower two and veg two clones or crack two seeds. Just finished up trimming tonight. 2 plants 13.1oz. Two more are 18days into flower and two clones are in the veg tent about 6-8” tall.

Also you don’t need to run your 12 plant limit if you don’t want. You just need to fill the space.

If you flower for 10 weeks for example. You might only need to veg 4 plants to fill your space up.

As you run it you will figure out your timing, plant count pot size and all the other stuff you figure out as you go.
