Best Seed Strain for Outdoor Beginner

I'm looking to get some seeds for my first outdoor grow and I have a couple questions.

What seed/strain would you recommend for a total beginner outdoor grower?
And, how many seeds should I get if I want to get a decent crop?

Well depends on if your going to order seeds or not? If its a hassle to buy seeds, you should just buy a decent bag of mids, and use those. You dont want to many, otherwise helicopters might notice ya. First grow I would try about 10 to be safe, or less, realisticly I doubt this will be noticeable by copters but its up to u. Hopefully you get about 5 females, and that should give you plenty of room for trial and error. try diff things on diff plants, find out what works for your enviroment, then get some good strains, and make it happen :)

Search through this forum and learn all you can about indicas and sativas. They're the two main strains for weed; sativas give a really cerebral high, while indicas get you that body buzz stoned feeling. Sativas are generally better for outdoor growing because of their height, while indicas are better for indoor because their short and produce more bud. What jack means is just buy a bag of decent weed and use some of the seeds from that. Otherwise there are plenty of websites you can order seeds from that send their shipments oh so stealthily. Those websites will even suggest good outdoor strains.

Thanks alot. I have only 3 seeds from bags I've bought...probably not enough to make it worth while, huh?

I've been scouting for some spots for my first grow and I think i've got one. Should I look for drier, but moist areas or swampier, mushier soil? There are some spots next to a stream next to my house and some areas are dry, some are moist, and some are flooded and swampy. Where should I plant?

Most definitley not a swampy area. I've never grown outdoors but too much water will drown your plants. Also a swamp is gonna be extremely humid which can lead to a whole mess of problems. Find a place that gets plenty of sun. If there is a place thats by a stream that gets plenty of sun and has some nice moist soil, go for it. If you're looking for info on growing outdoor you should search the outdoor growing forum, its gonna have all the info you could need. Try growing something like northern lights, haze, or a purple strain.
