Little Wayne, T.I., Young Jeezy, M.F. Doom, DangerMouse, D.J. Kahled, Collie Buddz, Damien Marley, Elephant Man, Beanie Man...the last three are dancehall rap but still really amazing especially the Damien Marley albums "Halfway Tree" and "Welcome to Jamrock"

This is gonna sound lame but my favorite rapper of all time has to be a guy called 'Cannibus.'

Not because of the name..he's just good.

Yeah, he's great. Too bad I haven't heard anything from him in a while. I actually thought he won the battle between him and L.L., 'L was given the nod just because of his status and respect gathered through out his career. Anyway, I'll just list some. Biggie and Pac getting the obligatory spot not listed.

(vintage) Bone
Devin the Dude
Scarface
Luniz
Ded Prez
Lil Wayne
Trill Ent. (Boosie, Webbie, Fox, Big Head)
Kanye (been feelin' him lately, as opposed to iffy earlier years)
Pastor Troy
Talib Kweli
Comon
Mos Def
Slum Village

You MUST listen to Enter the Wu-tang (36 Chambers) by the Wu-Tang clan.

The Wu-Tang is a must.

Your rap tastes seem very similar to mine, so you will probably like them.

Here is something you should also look at,

Hardcore hip hop - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That link is a list of DOZENS of artists you would enjoy.

The genre of music you are looking at is called either Gangsta Rap or Hardcore Hip-hop.

Take care, my nigga (KIDDING).

Anytime bro. If I could ever go back, I would work in a record store. Not some lame ass FYE or Circuit City shelves, a REAL record store. I would love to be Barry in High Fidelity.

loads of great rappers already listed but didn't see anyone mention redman, listen to muddy waters by him, i'm surprised he never seems to come up much in these sorts of things but that album absolutely kills it for me
