Looking for a high quality, quiet as possible 6" (at least 400cfm) inline fan. I understand a fan moving that much air won't be silent, so I want one quiet as possible then ill go from there to make it even more quiet. Thanks

I currently have a can max and a vortex real happy with both to be honest. You will need a Stepless speed controller in my opinion but they are both great :)

I too consider noise control very important to keeping things stealth. I use the Soler & Palau TD150x fans. They are very quiet and move a lot of air. I also use a duct muffler right after the fan for extra silence. The whole air system makes about as much noise as the little forced air heater I use in my bedroom.

You wanna know how to control the noise of a fan? First, use a speed controller. Second, put a carbon filter or length of ducting on one end and ducting on the other, noise issue resolved. I have a few max can fans, a few of the plastic housing 3-speed max fans and a some cheap CAP fans from hydrofarm and other places ranging from 8" down to 4". I have noise issues with none of them because I either have a carbon filter or ducting on one end and ducting on the other end. No need to box your fan or install it in some far off sealed up location, just simple ducting does wonders to quiet noise.
