best pots to use?

I have a 4x4 tent, 1000w hps/mh setup. I decided on growing one monster plant instead of lots of smaller ones. The strain will be GTH#1 FEM.

I was thinking about doing a 5 gallon bucket, but I'm starting to lean towards a 10 gallon pot. What would be the best type (Hempy, bucket, fabric, etc...)?

Really? Only 1 plant? Trying for a pound huh? I would agree with the above and do about a 20 gallon no-till organic soil smartpot/growbag. This will be quite a learning curve if you do not transplant up as the poster above me stated because it will be so easy to overwater such a small root mass in such large pots.

Stick with the 5 gallon bucket. In a 4x4 tent with 1000 watt hps you can fit 4 really nice size plants and average a quarter lb per plant. My 2 cents is all.

I'm with Ovibird. I have 6 girls (topped and supercroped) in a 4X8, I'm hoping for 4oz of prime bud per plant.

Man I can't say enough about growing hempy. I've done soil and have a decent Power grow hydro system I used one time. Hempy is easy and you will save on nutes. I usually only mix a half gallon at a time for 1 plant autos, and they don't get that big anyway. But even if your trying to grow a tree I can't see using more than a gallon at a time. When I feed I usually do about 1/3 of my mix over several hours to let it wick up. Otherwise you're just draining nutes out the hole, which is a good thing if your flushing with ph'ed water. With hydro I remember having to adjust ph every day. Which ain't bad, just easier in the hempy. You could do the same hempy with a ten gallon pot.

P.S. You can use hempy over and over again with an 80-20 perlite to vermiculite. But, I have some friends who have an outdoor hydro veg garden and they just use 100% perlite. I am using MG products, I just did a really good flush before I planted to dilute out some of the nutes they have. Of course it would be nice to get larger perlite. And just use a regular 5 gallon bucket with a hole 2 inches from the bottom like everyone else. Just really easy to do hempy. Still have to ph 5.8-6 when you feed water or feed water water.

i'm definitely not against doing 4 or 5 plants, that was the original idea. I was going to do a few different strains, but then i was thinking about how unskilled (this will be my first grow) I am and don't wanna ruin a lot of my seeds, rather ruin one.

However I might do 4, maybe in hempy or fabric
