hi,

as title says really.

if any1 has good experience / value from an internet site then please share the link so i can check them out.

it will probably be cheaper than getting them from somewhere like Homebase & B&Q (if they even sell them! - havnt checked).

just include info on things like, discounts u may of gotten, delivery times etc etc

thanks.

p.s i live in UK so would be better if i didnt have to buy them from over sea's!
any store that sells light bulbls will have cfls........but fuck the cfls.you need to get your self some hps......now your doing things

right, ffs!! i know people are trying to help but i have stated at least 3 times i am in the UK. how can i get to walmart, target, sears lowes etc. i was looking for a cheap site or any1 in UK that had experience in retail shops over here.

im not ordering over sea's. i wanna pay with good ol' Great British Pounds and not have to pay alot of postage etc.

nickfury, i havnt started anything yet, lol. only just germinating bagseed to see how it goes. waitin till i get my CFLs 1st. plus moving into my new house paying all tha bills im gonna want to keep the cost down, so CFL's all the way for me.

before you buy the cfls...make a list of what you will need to hang them and the cfls them selves..add up the cost and i am 100% sure you can find a hid set-up for the same money or less...and the hid will be more efficient to run than the cfls also.....unless you plan on only using 1-3 cfls..and if that is the case.....dont even bother...

Did you veg and flower with that light only?
as for now, yes, im doing my first grow with it, iive had it on flower for 10 days no, my node space is anywhere from 1 inch to 1/2 inch wich is really good for flourecent, ive lst'd it, wich i recommend for anyone using cfl's or flourecent unless you plan on have a cfl with a refeclector on just about every cola, thats the only way you get a good yield with cfl. heres a pic of my plant as of 3 days ago. I cut the top off after 6 nodes to keep it small, and as the colas started to grow i pruned the original fan leaves off slowly till they were gone, when your using flourecent you want to make sure the important parts of your plants are recieveing the most light possible.

lol.....i tried growing with cfls...buy the time i was halfway through my veg i had spent around $200 on more lights and more shit to hang them with and spliters and fans ( because yes cfls do get hot) only to buy a hps light in the end.....im just trying to keep someone else from wasting a bunch of cash and do things right:mrgreen::joint:

Any micro grow I would do CFL. I have never used an HPS, but if you got ability to use that instead, of course go with that.

CFL's may not make your plant grow as well, but they do make it grow :)

So i think going back to the question asked in this thread...

Where is that best place to get CFL's?

Would be nickfury's trash can....for free.

Go on ebay and search for Starfish.
It's a shop.. I bought everything I use for growing off them.
And it's in the UK, so happy days.

look screw cfl's, if you want to use flourecent, im telling you, go with the t5ho fixture with either pll 55 watt or pll 80watt bulbs, their less expensive per watt, put out more lumens per watt and have a better intensity than those pig tail cfl's.

ive been using a 108 watt 10,000 lumen t5ho and am having great results, its a 2 foot fixture, the good thing is that it burns very cool, i have a little fan that blows directly on the bulbs and it makes then so cool that the plant can grow right into it without damaging it.

i am after rather 125watt 6400k and 2700k CFL's x2 or maybe more depending on price

or the 200watt bulbs, also depending on price.

and to grievybaby(?) ill check out starfish on ebay now. thanks for that.

EDIT: would also be after the E40 fittings as well for the bulbs

also, god damn, envirolites are expensive. its gonna cost £46 for just 2 lights. then i still have to buy other stuff. and running a setup on 1 veg an 1 flower isnt really good.
