Homebrew nutes give you the most flexibility in many aspects.. and that's why I'd call then 'best' - as for pre-mixed organics, that's a whole other story.

Edit: As an example.. the recipe that happens to be sitting in front of me capable of making 30000 gallons (yes, you read that correctly) of hydro food for a 240-ish dollar (USD) investment. Working with A and B for a few other name brands could be closer to 170-200 bucks for 500 gallons-ish depending on what you were running.

The best nutes I have used are Advanced Nutrients. Pricy but if you get more product then what's the gripe? See if they're available in the 250m/l size. Enough to grow a few crops and still not a bust on the budget.

ive been wondering this myself as i just started my grow with the fox forest ocean stuff... its got enough nutes in it to last a few weeks but im going to have to find some good nutes...people have been telling me the Blue Mountain Organics (BMO) stuff is the best but im not really sure...

I'm having much success with Earth Juice specifically their Catalyst and Bloom... if you have to use chlorine-laden tap water, EJ is a very good choices as they're quite acidic. Also these guys have been around for a long time and are still making the same products-- tells you something...

^^ not sure about spraying molasses on plant leaves, IMHO, that would invite pests to dine upon it (especially outdoors). I do like using molasses in teas, mixed 2 teaspoons to 2 gallons of water, 1/2 oz of Super Plant Tonic, a handful of EWC's, and either a 1 oz of Grow It Green, or Flower Power depending on what stage of growth my plants are in. If you want to do your own nutrients, buy a lb of grow guano and a lb of bloom guano, and a few lb's of EWC's (I buy mine from this dude, and they are really good castings -> http://pommie84.com/aboutus.html I like buying from smaller companies like this one, and BMO, because they are operated by real people, here in America, who take pride in what they do.

My girls get Roots Organics and Earth Juice. I add a bunch of other little things depending on the day.
Id make the home-brew if I could, but....
Right now my house plants are on GO BioThrive, and they are thriving.
