I have grown in GG and coco for quite some time and have had none of the problems that were talked about.
I didn’t even know who Mr Canuck was and folks were referencing him left and right.
i may try promix in the near future, but I’ve gotten great results in Fox Farms 70/30 buffered coco.
I like to experiment, so I’ve tweeked things here and there, but my mix is basically coco, GG, EWC, langebienite and some canna boost during flower.
I think the EWC (or compost) is the key ingredient here. I don't think just Gaia Green + coco would work, because there's no source of microbes to break down the nutrients in the GG. But GG + coco + EWC (or compost) is basically a standard recipe for living organic soil...

Count me down for Gaia green, shit kicks ass and seems pretty easy to use.

I believe Mr Canuck used to try and use coco and Gaia green which as you can see from that pic showed did not work well. Some people have had success with coco and dry amendments but most people don't have good results with that combo.
Since then he has switched to Gaia green living soil and the dry amendments which works great. It's much easier than the coco so he has much better results now. I think he is sponsored by GG now so he obviously uses thier products, they probably saw how many followers he had and how bad of a job he was doing with their great products so they told him they would just give him living soil to use(so he cant really fuck it up). I have only watched a couple of his vids, he has a shit ton of followers but he gets no love over here because he had a ton of followers before he even had any good results.
nice plant. How much and how often do you add Gaia in flower? I am considering it. Have you used several organic nuts with this being best?

I have not tried a bunch. I switched from salt nutes to Gaia green living soil so I could stop mixing nutes. But they stopped selling it so I got ff ocean forest for a bit. But it was expensive buying by the bag. So I got a Bale of promix and a tub of GG all purpose and mixed my own. Did a side by side of ocean forest and the stuff I mixed up myself. Same clone, same pot, and I ended up tossing the ocean forest one after about three weeks cause It was getting to cramped in my flower tent and the GG mix plant was at least double if not triple the size.
So that was my last bag of ocean forest. Just mix my own and reuse it year after year. Saves a ton of money. I re amend with half of what I originally put in.
I use a very different, kinda tricky method as I flower in 2 gallon pots of my GG mix. I put a clone or a plant in a solo cup into my 2 gallon containers and usually start to top dress either right away or first week just to get roots used to the top dress for when they need it. Then I usually top dress at weeks 2 or 3 and again around week 5.
I use blumats so I just put my top dress in a hole right under my drip lines.
This technique has worked pretty well for me but it's a little tricky as you need to be on top of your top dressing of you will get deficiencies.
Definitely be much easier with bigger pots.

But in my eyes Gaia green works great and has let me get away from bottle nutes and just use tap/dehumidifier water. And it grows phenomenal buds that are 100% organic

Thanks, I may try it in a few weeks. Ive been doing this a while. If you havent' yet I highly recommend air pots and I found a close knock off as well on ebay thats working great. My side by side grows air pot vs reusable bags can't remember name was airpots increased yield 25 percent min. Plants love it. put em in saucers and about week 4ish in flower i leave a bit water in the tray and roots go get a drink. by grow end roots all over saucer. try it. reusable.

I've tried fabric pots but I didn't like them because they don't work to well with blumats. I fund hard OTs work better. With fabric after the grow there is pockets dry soil that doesn't have roots, whereas in regular pots the whole thing is moist and has roots.
If I didn't use blumats I would probably use them.

The point was to try Air Pots. DAm sure wasnt fabric

I take advice from the company, I just was interested in one of the strains he was growing, and that’s kinda how it all started. Plus, we all make mistakes, even the pros. Having a few grows on the go isn’t always easy, especially when life is involved.
Right? One bad grow and there goes your reputation..

That was always my issue when it came to blumats with the topdressings. So you put the amendments in a hole right under the dripper... but how much, 10-20 grams at a time? Have you tried adding more like 50- 100g?? Isnt it too concentrated?

It depends on what youre topdressing with. Something like worm castings can be applied very generously, id be more cautious on something with a uneven NPK rating as it may throw things off

Im talking about guano mostly. It would never fly like that. It pisses me off. Gotta change my P source if i want to make blumats work

ah i see. i ditched guanos when i read into how unethical the harvesting process is. even the ones advertised as sustainable seem shady. To each their own though best of luck figuring it out. Out of curiosity, why wouldn't it work?

I found out about the unethical bit after i bought the 5kilo box. Hope by the time it finishes ill figure out the P from another source. Bone meal prevails so far. Hopefully ill be able to do it in the oven?! But then again which bone part? Im missing those details.

It would work but id have to add little by little cause its so potent. I already do this in flower but i add 10-15 grams every 10days after the 4th week flower and thats all around the pot, not concentrated in a square inch. What are you using for P?

Yep I just put Gaia green all purpose or power bloom in a hole right under the drip line. Works pretty good for me, I try and top dress a week or two before I think they need it.
I use 2 gallon contrainers and topdress 1 tablespoon per gallon every few weeks.

i use a pre mixed solid amendment mix, Dr Earth Flower Girl. Or the all purpose if i dont have any flower girl. I also use Neptunes Harvest Fish and Seaweed liquid.

Clackamas coots has the best nutes check out the fade bros. All other nutes are unethical as they use phosphorus!
Are you referring to synthetic nutrients that use mined phosphate? You can also use bone meal as a source of phosphorus, that's actually probably more common in organic fertilizers than crustacean meal which is I think what Coots mix uses...
