I just wanted to get some people's opinions on what they like to use for nutes.. I was told G.H. Flora Grow and Bloom are good as well as B.C. Boost, what is it you like to use.

I think the best nutrient is used with a light hand. I think the brand is far less significant than the experience of the person using it and the system they are using it in. If you are not using RO (reverse osmosis) water and your tap water is over 200 PPM you may be stuck using General Hydroponics 3-part Flora series since the Micro comes in a "hard water" formula. I have used it and have no problems with it at all.

Having said that - i think you'd be pleased with any quality nutrient manufacturer.

For a nutrient education, i recommend the following threads and posts...

Well I took some tap water and boiled it for about 10 mins then let it cool, I am going later to the store and getting some bottled distilled water, whats the difference between distilled and RO water?

While not the whole picture, the following is close enough for rock'n roll...

Distilled water is water that is boiled, the steam is collected in a clean container leaving all the nasties behind. (just boiling it does very little)

RO water uses filters to achieve similar ends.

RO is used since it is much cheaper than distilled. But the cost depends on how much water you use.

One of the bigger differences, while not particularly important for growing, is that uncharged organic stuff, bacteria and viruses are not affected by RO or other de-ionization processes whereas distilled water destroys most of them as well.

Most every grower here (who doesn't use tap) uses RO water.
