Hey guys, currently working on a new setup and it will consist of two 3x6 tables on one wall. So pretty much 12 feet of flood tray with a foot of space in between. Just curious what lighting everyone is using for these smaller tables, im open to anything but looking for the best yield. Thanks

I'm totally into HID lights but those tables are an awkward size. With the right hoods a 600W HID would do the best job for each table. I just bought a 6' light rail to use with a 1000W EYE in an 8x4 grow tent that I have yet to set up. At $250ea light rails may not be a good choice for you with the setup you propose.
If you have some coin to invest in this project I'd seriously look into buying these new-fangled COB LED lights. They seem to grow as good as any of the HID lights I've been using since '82. I don't buy cheap lights either. The 1000W EYE I picked up in August was $170 just for the bulb. It's rated as 940W but runs off my 1000W MH magnetic ballast to give incredible flowering light. The 400W EYE I'm using soon to flower with was $100. Just got 400 and 1000W PlantMax MH bulbs for 40 and $60 dollars to veg with.

A 3x3 for a 400, 4x4 for a 600 and 5x5 for a 1000W is the way I've always seen it. I have been growing with 400s the last 15 years and still haven't got a 600. The type of shade used can make a difference too. I'll be using an open batwing style in the tent with the 1000W.

In my experience, a 600 does not adequately cover a 4x4 and a 1000 does not adequately cover a 5x5 when talking se. (in a single light setup, in a big room with overlap this point is moot.) With de a 5x5 works with 1000 and 600 maybe for a 3.5x3.5. I just can't see 600 watts of hid being able to fully cover a 4x4 without losing a large amount of intensity for all the plants on the edges.A 3x3 for a 400, 4x4 for a 600 and 5x5 for a 1000W is the way I've always seen it. I do like that 315 idea but worried they won't produce the same as 2 600w fixtures per tray, any of you guys try them yet? I am going to check on prices though it would be nice to test. Do you guys think the gavita triple star adjustable hoods would do decent for the 3ft coverage? Wish I could just do 4x8 tables but the room calls for the 3 foot width

600 hps is still my favorite lighting. And I use cob, blurple, and hid. 600 just do the best by me. 1.5-2.5 lbs when dialed in. I've seen guys hit a pound with the cmh though. I may grab one of them to mess with in the near future.

a 600 will for sure.
a 1k in a 4 x 4 and 2 x 600 in a 5 x 5 for optimal coverage.
Or 2 x 400 in a 4 x 4 if your going hps.

If your running 900PPFD with COB its killing any HPS.
HPS is old news.
CMH if your going with a HID of any kind. Plus the 4000k spectrum is great.
Watt for Watt a COB produces more umol which= growth and yield.

Meh, the guys running cobs aren't doing any better gpw than I do with my 600s, and my cob flowering tents are only doing .1-.15 gpw better than my 600s do, and for the price difference, not really worth upgrading my 600 space to cobs imo.

Haven't really looked into the cobs too much but the price is a little much for me, I think the 315 route would be cool to try but I may just end up with the 600w hps to save some money. You guys think 3 600s would do that 12 foot span pretty good? Or would you go for 2 per table?

They'll do just fine and cost less to run
