And how does one produce more heat than the other? We can address the duh after you answer the question lol.
I'm no expert but is it because one is radiation which transfers into 'waves' and the other is convection or conduction? My 100w tube heater gives roughly 10 times the room heat that two 50w light bulbs do.

It’s impossible that it produces 10x, or for that matter, anymore. Keep in mind we’re talking BTU’s which is both latent and sensible heat and not “oh but it feels warmer”. Notice there was no duh at the end. You may want to read just a little bit about Watts versus btu’s if you want to have a discussion about it.

Closed loop 5 wells 175 foot piece. I had a climatemaster tranquility series put in.
So 5 ton I’m assuming then? Nice unit! I’ve commisioned a few on an open loop communal well system for a 20 unit building, 6 years and no problems yet other than the thermostat is a bitch for some lol.

Yah and some for redundancy. Worst of northern Michigan winters and it’s yet to call for second stage heating. It’s been a solid unit the only time I’ve ever had trouble is last year after I had them install the humidifier and screwed the board up. But with good warranties and all it was fixed. The only reason I didn’t do open loop is due to my well water being hard as hell and I didn’t want to void the warranty. But all in all I love these systems and will never look back. An your right the thermostats can be a pain in the ass thats why I stick with the ones they come with plus it gives me all the system info like l1 and l2 temps water temp coming in and out pump speed blah blah blah it’s how I caught the fact they screwed something up call for aux heat all the damn time.

cant beat heating an entire house on 105 watts of power this morning!

That’s just the pump right and not the compressor? That’s probably close to 4-6 amps I would guess. So 1000 or so more watts and then the blower, another 100-200, but still amazing. The V loops here are typically 125-150 and pretty much the same climate. The stat that comes with must be used for troubleshooting and the building is a seniors res so FML lol.

no worries mate, ill use an air heater like 99.9% of growers and just you keep using lightbulbs to heat yer area duh. ;-) :bigjoint: #triggered

I've been growing for 25+, and not in some little closet setup like you're rocking. Gain some experience, you littl
Yea, so my space is 7x3, RDWC.i used to light it with 2000 watts of HPS. It was hot in the summer, so I always removed 600 watts for a couple months. I replaced the HPS with an array of cobs, Northern Lights, Timber, and a few homemade lights. Recently I took out the homemade lights and and scaled the space back by a few feet. I can always go bigger again.

Because I am using 4 overhead lights and 3 quantum boards for side lighting, I can easily move them individually up or down for perfect coverage. I am now below 800 watts and my production is amazing. My room never gets over 75 degrees, even in summer. My electric bill is slashed by at least 60%. I don’t need a chiller anymore, or any type of air conditioning.

So, that’s my experience. I never understood all the LED bashing and shit. Yea, they cost more but my quality is BETTER, it cost a less to operate, coverage is better, etc, etc. I would never go back. I gave my inefficient HPS lights to my nephew.

Everyone has different wants and needs when it comes to growing. If I had a huge operation and was in it for production and sales, I would probably go with HPS. For me it’s not even close, LEDs all day. We are out of the blurple and Mars days, kids. The new COBs kick serious ass...

Yah as far as I know during winter our electric bill goes up 35 bucks and summer only goes up 2 whole Dollars lol. So I’m not too keen on the actual full draw still though it’s cost is little. The cost to have it installed was high but well worth it. I had a family member that drills the geothermal wells for a living so that much only cost me a full thousand I forget what they quoted me but it wasn’t 1000 lol.

Yup there amazing and wished we had more out there. The cost is the factor that scares the masses at around $20,000 for the holes :(. And our wise provincial government just cancelled the rebates ..... idiots.

Nope not triggered at all tbh, rather humorous actually. I use 1000 watt lights to heat duh
Light is not a very effective heater of air, its better at heqting a surface.

Quite an inefficient heater, if i use a 1000watt bulb against a 1000w foot heater the heater warms the area quicker than the bulb.

Leaves however deal with light radiation and transpiration is hence the most efficient cooling system in mother nature. Hot leqves aint nothing really, hit them hard with radiation and light, what the sun does :-)

Tell everybody about your experience using LEDs.

Oh that's right - you have none.

Keep spewing nonsense, scrub.
My experience, science and time here is not in question, yours however is.

You squadered your chance to learn here with your ego, i am not that member.

Members cutting through your advice on leds gets your back up, i would simply quote science back-that stuff youve failed to learn because it was easier to jump on the ppfd wagon.

Your opinion, my opinion = democracy, tis the only thing you need suck :-)

he knows best so leave him to his household light bulbs for heat.

Yah initial cost was high due to getting ducting installed and everything else. But after it was said and done it cost about 23k. Well worth the cost plus I’m not out cutting an splitting wood all summer like most do here to heat my house.

I sure love the cheap electricity we have here in the Pacific Northwest. I don't have to chop wood or spend 23K. My electricity only goes up maybe $60 a month for a few months in the winter to heat my house. I don't heat the entire house just the rooms I'm occupying at the time. Each room has it's own heat. The only wood I split is what goes in the smoker/cooker for cooking briskets, turkeys, etc...

I used to live in up in Washington had the baseboard heating in those houses. The winter there is much different than here. Electric where I’m at is around .11 or something of the sort. I prefer the entire house to be heated and cooled. That’s where geothermal really shines when it cools it uses so so much less. The entire house can be done for less than 5 bucks a month. Plus if this house had ducting already installed that would have been 9 grand cheaper or more. Actual unit themselves before the wells are drilled are all of 5-10k depending on how big and how fancy you want to go.

That's a load of horse shit. I have documented side by side comparison that completely contradicts that
Aren't you growing autos and stepped on clones ? I don't really think you have much to provide me, the facts are in the data sheets and my own side by side but good try. Go sell some auto seeds or something.
