Best extract for me? Help?

I have a small medical grow. 4 plants at a time grown from a vertical hps. So I don't not have much. I would like to know the best choice of extraction of thc and cbd from the medicine without wasting it. I want to know the best "bang for your buck" type method. Thanks!

I personally think the best method is CO2, but that is very expensive. Best DYI method I think is QWISO, or quick wash iso. I've also done the process with grain alcohol with great results. Theres pictures in my journal a page or 2 from the end of my alcohol extractions I've done recently. Alcohol is simple, doesn't require you to work outside, cheap, and very effective. I would add that anyone that argues strongly against alcohol extractions has either never done one, or did it wrong. The key is the quick wash, and to freeze everything and do the process cold. I am getting very clean oils with fantastic flavor, as I'm not using much heat at all to evap the alcohol. You can youtube videos on qwiso, but its way less fcking around then butane, and I feel alot safer. If you can go to the local store and get 91%+ 99 is best, iso alcohol, or a bottle of everclear you could have some nice oil this time tomorrow. You could evap it faster with heat, which I've done before, but the hotter you get it the more flavor you'll loose and the more you'll change the texture of the oil.

Bho gives highest yield and is almost impossible to end up with a bad product imo

What thundercat said was good too...

I'm just biased against butane in all honesty. I hate seeing these dumb kids blowing themselves up, and I feel like the odds of that happening with most alcohol extractions should be pretty slim if they aren't idiots.

Definately. Some idiot by ut or something (college in Austin) blew up his and the neighbors apt a month or so ago..gives a bad name to us all. Iso and ethanol both are much safer to work with. You don't necessarily have to evap iso outdoors, it won't collect in your sink for example either.

It can, most will be impurities. But a long bho soak will still not extract much else and in my opinion is the most effective way to remove all cannabinoids with as little impurities.. in my opinion...but I still get 10-15% doing a quick wash

The same goes for any non polar extract

Interesting.. Good to know. Everytime I do a quickwash, I'm slightly disappointed with my results. Especially when I use nugs..

It is technically easier to make a good extraction with a non polar solvent like butane, because they are so forgiving. They are however highly flammable, so they require more attention to safety details.

QWET or QWISO both do a good job, but you do have to pay more attention to technical details, or you end up with excessive water solubles and chlorophyll.

All are good, but your mind must be present during extraction, for you to win.

Man that's pretty much what I was attempting to say in both my posts. I just couldn't spit it out quite so gracefully

i get atleast 20% on all of my iso extractions. But faded nailed it. It all comes down to what you're comfortable with doing and what you think your capable of doing. Some are more forgiving than others.

Yea at least 20% means you've got a fair amount of contaminents.. compare it to what bho would yield, it takes a frosty strain and a pretty good soak for me to get consistently above 20% and that's reduced a lot after winterization. If you can get at least 20% of good oil. I would love to see your starting material
