Thanks BB, for posting those pics for me !

Here's 2 pics of my drain....inside and out. What'dya think ?

Also, Lowes/HomeDepot has what's called a Drill Pump.
It connects to a standard drill and when you pull the trigger, it pumps fluid.
Pretty cool and cost around $15 for it and the tubing.

Ok.

Ferget the quick and easy drain, I don't see threads on that drain. It look like a snap in.

On the inside of the cooler you need to PLUG that hole. And plug it good. On the ouside TAPE is securely
to the outside of the cooler.

Reason?

If that drain plug ever comes loose you will get flooded.
And they do come loose. I have two like that that I'm hoping to put out on the boat
after the rest of the igloos get here. If they ever do. Damn I hate ordering off the net.

Plug and seal those drains. You will need to use a hose to siphon out the cooler but it's no big deal.

Threaded drains on the coolers is very important,
Look at my pics again. I have 2 shut off valves.
Redundancy. It's yer best friend.

I do remember seeing a pic of those and I thought at the time they did not have the right drain fitting

Sorry FloG, you can still use them, just no quick fill and drain.

Suction and gravity is cheaper and works just fine.
Length of hose, couple buckets and viola!

But that depends on the setup.

Sorry

No doubt, but mine are on the floor like yours.

Drill pump will probably be what I go with.

Go check my "12/12 from seed...." thread ! Finally moved into the Igloo..................

yes and before I slept at the Holiday Inn I was not using the drains, was using hoses to drain by suction,,,,

PITA

One good night at HI and I saw it in a dream,,,,,,,,

I hate that.

So you can use just a hose,,,,

Keeprsimple.....

Cool Waters,
No light.

3,365 viewers have dialed in.

Most views I've had, damn.

Thanks for viewing to all of you riu'rs.

I'm cranky and short tempered at times and won't apologize,
to old to bother at 53,,,,,,

I have tried each and every way you all post up on reservoirs and have spent 10's of thousands to
perfect my set up. I'm 215. I don't supply dispensaries. I grow my own. I use my own seeds. I clone. I graft and I cross.
These labs allow us to explore further into the realm of this Plant. We are passionate it about it and never settle for 2nd best.

I don't know it all and still learn from cruising sites. Great thing about being older, I have time and and active imagination. I also have Madds,
my twin. One and only grow partner for 41 years.

It does an ol' man good if his advice helps those with problems.

Many, many aspects of The Plant to learn.
Take your time.

Good growing to all,
and to all big fat healthy flowers at the end.

If you unscrew that drain you can match up a union and neck it up to be able to use a hose and ball valve set up with your drill pump.

Do you have water supply in the grow lab or are you running a 100 ft garden hose? My guess with those white walls there must be a tap in that room. Are you running a sight stick in through the top for water level? How do you monitor the res level?

Super sweet set up. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Plumbing hook ups under the floor along with a few other gizmos that you won't see.
Just like you'll never see the back of the coolers once the Plants go under scrog.
Sorry, thats all the whizbang kid's (madds) realm and he doesn't like to share THAT
stuff. But it's nerdy cool, easy to op and works good so far. The white panels come
down easy so he can get in and fix anything that goes bad with his monitoring gear.
Heck, give me a hannah, a ppm pen or even a blue lab (just got one today) and i'm good

No worries man. I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder. I'm a mechanic by trade and my brain just works that way.

I'm growing in a closet on a pretty low tech application. Ive just got to the point that I'm sick of always tinkering with this and that all the damn time due to temps. First time I saw your set up it I couldn't believe how dumb I was when every day I stare at five or six coolers on the back patio asking myself how to keep the temps down. It was like a lighting bolt hit me right through the brain.

Anyhoo thanks again for the wake up call. Ive got it all dialed in. Ill post some pics after this harvesting this sorry excuse for a plant.

I hear you Buzz ! lmao
After searching and reading about DWC so much, I just happen to have found Prof BB57 and his coolers.
Luckily it was within the same week that I started my first DWC grow.
A no-brainer if you ask me.
Not a single issue with temps OR ph ! Shit has been stable since day 1 !

No worries, heck as a mechanically inclined fixerhowzerwhozits, you have a leg up on most of us.
And it's not being dumb, it takes a lot of planning and sometimes we miss the obvious. I planned this lab to be
easily modified. Lots of room to play. Try some other things. My brain needs a good "jolt" every once in a while too,,,,

Get them pics up,
and
yer welcome,,,,,
