Cheapest way to go will probably be some compact fluorescent bulbs. With $100 you can get yourself a nice 150w hps or something like it to fit your needs. How big is your grow?
If you have a hydro shop around you then you will be able to find everything you need, and you can at least get some decent cfl's at a hardware store.

Just one plant in a 1ftx2ft space as tall as 6 ft but trying to keep it short as 3ft. Also i cant find 42watt cfls at a hardware store most is 27w..

could 6x 27w 6500k workout? and i cant do hps cus the space is too small

yes, 6x 27w 6500k will work fine. Since your doing an auto then use 2x 6500k and 4x 2700k.

both and spread them out to better illuminate the plant

reason of using different colored lights is you get a wider spectra. also 6500k - better VEG 2700k - better bloom
also keep your lights about 2-3" away from canopy of plant.

Just get an adapter so they plug into a power strip and run it out the side. But one thing that will help your plants and their height a lot would be to have variable light placement. Basically just have like five six different sets of nails to hold the power strip along the side of the case. if you start out with the lights close to the plants, they won't want to stretch as much and will have denser buds at the end of cycle

you could also get a vanity light strip from any hardware store. there easy to wire to a extention cord. You could also rig it so you can manuver it up and down. With a small vanity light strip (3 light sockets) you can get 3x Y socket adapters and run 6 lights no prob. would probably be abit cheaper then a bunch of plug in adapters to a power bar.
