Well I been using these 5000K 4ft T8 Led replacement bulbs from Hyperikon(http://www.amazon.com/Hyperikon®-equivalent-Crystal-UL-Listed-DLC-Qualified/dp/B00OMAIG2S/ref=sr_1_6?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1448408005&sr=1-6&keywords=t8+led).

They function by removing the ballast from your old fixtures and rewiring it straight to the power cord. I went to my local Lowes and bought 2 4ft 2 bulb fixtures for about $18 each fixture (http://www.lowes.com/pd_420867-43921-MXL-103_1z11owh__#img)

Now since these T8 led's have built in ballast in the tube, you wont need the one in the fixture. This eliminates the heat that most of the t5, t8, t12 florescent fixtures people use with in veg. I can literally touch my fixture with no heat at all coming from the new led t8 bulbs.

The best thing about the fixture above from Lowes is it uses a easy connect ballast which makes it easy when u have to remove the wires from ballast for the fixture.
(Here is the kind of ballast that come with the fixture from Lowes)

These led lights also only work with non-shunted bulb sockets. But if you purchase the fixtures from Lowes shown above u will not need to change them out since they already use non-shunted sockets.
The bulbs from amazon will include free non-shunted sockets. ( I didn't need to use them but they are good for back ups.)

Total cost for a 4ft 4 bulb led veg light:
4 pack Led Bulbs $67
2 4ft light fixtures from Lowes $36
Total : $103

Total watts used: 72 Watts

Now this is a great deal for a 4ft 4 bulb veg light, also running at 70 watts for the whole fixtures is super cheap and will save u tons of money on your electricity bill.

Here is how I mounted my 2 fixtures together with some scrap wood i had laying around.( The black hooks used come with each fixture.

One thing I forgot to add is that I ordered the clear covers for the led tubes. But after a week of use I just decided to take off the clear plastic to get even more light from the leds.( If you decide to take off the covers be careful as you can damage the light.) If you need help and advice just let me know.
