Best and Worst Strains of 2013

This site has so much old garbage on there, half the links don't even give you a real description of the strain.
I have not experienced this once, and I've probably viewed at least 100 strain pages.

I find it to be the most easiest to use strain database around. I wish more people would submit grow reports. Its very comprehensive (you can rate different phenotypes, the taste/smell pie charts are excellent).

Obviously you can't put too much stock into these things, but its a lot faster than digging through message board grow journals. Usually I just use seed finder to get a quick idea of what to expect (if there is enough reviews). From there I'll actually put in the leg work to find check out some individual grow journals/reports.

Yeah amos, I think I got super frickin lucky with a freebie Critical Sensi Star, but this thing is quick to flower, easy to grow with no nute sensitivities, and yields nice large top colas with good branching in 55 days flat. I mean the pheno I got is just littered with good crystal halfway out the fan leaves!! Great thing to, is I actually got bigger colas in soil under 600w, than my buddy did in his ebb n flow under a 1000w. Perhaps she likes soil better, or I generally always err low on nutes and she liked my feeding regimen better, either way I'm stoked to have finally found a keeper pheno of anything lol!! Now I can tinker with others and still kill it yield wise...

My Seedism Cheesewreck fem grew out to be Male. And my Critical Jack Herer doesn't look very spritely. Other than that, I have only good things to say about every breeder I've tried off 'Tude. Props to Nirvana and Big Buddha Cheese. (plz note, my seedism diesel fem grew female).

Been really surprised by some of Sannie's freebies I got with an order of Killing Fields. The Chemdawg X Mystery Strain (killing fields it turnd out to be) had fan leaves the size of a dinner plate and stunk like a burned tire...and the Green Manalishi x Casey Jones is small, powerfully built and looks like haze blooms stuck on a Skunk #1..it smells of lemoney spice (love that smell). I'd reorder from Sannie just to get those freebies again.

Forgot to mention. I put three Dr. Grinspoons in a 5 gallon pot with a tomato cage and have twisted those babies around and around that cage till she looks like three snakes climbing a tower. They put on so many blooms I am swimming in Grinspoon flowers. They will be the last ones I chop as they will take at least a month longer than the other 5 plants I have growing even though they too are Sativa's or Sativa dominate hybrids. I'll grow these again. You just can't be afraid to bend em and tie em. They took to the torture like they loved it.

I'd love to see some pics of that

Best:Emdog. Out of a 5 pack there seem to be only 2 phenos. This strain is going to be off the hook with yield, smell, etc.
Worst: Purple Dream. Yielded about 8 oz. of some of the worst flowers I have ever seen..

I agree what they offer seems nifty, however I used this site every day for work and I found that information in the real world travels faster for new strains than on that site. Plus I feel like they dont update it once it is posted... the site is also a little ugly. If they could get more people to work with them the site would be amazing.

I'll see what I can do for ya. I just took them all out and gave them a 3X water flush. I started to have some lockout issues...hoping for the best. The best looking plants I have are the Grinspoons and a Bay Dream by Grandaddy Purp. That Babe is beautiful.

THIS^ Mine was a freebie from the tude. I was really excited when it started to flower because it was the first out of many strains to really STACK. Could tell right away it would yield well. Then the smell was really nice early on also. Thought it was gonna be awesome. BUT it just never pumped out any trichs really. I got around 3 zips off one plant but it's the LAST jar I ever reach for. blah.

Hopefully you haven't been gardening very long. Otherwise, ^ that's a lineup that I would expect to have much garbage from. Move up to companies with good reputations - you'll be much happier at harvest time.

Would you expect garbage from Dutch Passion?

I've grown a few good newer strains. Gage Green's Grape Puff and Cherry Puff were both really good. The Grape Puff had a really intense sour grape smell and taste to her. I also grew out HSO's Emdog which had a very nice chemmy flavor to her. Although I didn't get that great of a yield off of her. Alphakronik's Snowdawg 2 was a descent sativa. It had a very unique smell and taste that reminded me of a sugary sweet cotton candy with like a hazey spice undertone to her.

Blue Aliens by Green Beanz (Dj Short Blueberry (sativa) x Alien Kush F2) amazing line, have not grown her myself but know a few that have, great smoke.

Gorilla Biscuit by Seeds of Compassion (old school Sensi Star x Tres Sister) I grow the old school Sensi Star, from talking to 4D of SoC pretty much the same pheno, if you find that pheno (turpentine) with some more growth added from the Chems you'll be pulling pounds of goodness.

Only bad experience I had this year was with a new Old school Mr Nice (G13 x HP) popped 5 2 months ago... 0/5 germ... I'm afraid to pop the other 5 for fear of disappointment.
I have three of the new Mr Nice Hazes Angel's Breath, The Cure and Ash.
Ash has been around for a couple years.
I have had similar experiences with their beans.
The Angel's Breath...1 out of 5 popped and grew.
The Cure... also 1 out 5 popped and grew.
I have 10 of the Ash beans.
I started a journal on these hazes to do a comparison, but not much to compare.
The Angel's Breath is 38 days in flower and looking, smelling great. It is a tall giant beast and I am glad I got a couple cuttings.
The Cure is doing well, two weeks in veg, but I'm not sure I'm going to flower it.
I don't feel like growing, training and feeding this to find out it's a male.
I did that with the Angel's Breath.
I haven't smoked it, but based on these germ rates, I would never pay that high a price for beans from Mr Nice again.

The only new strain on the market I have going at the moment is Kannabia's Faraona. The lineage according to the breeder is secret.

http://www.kannabia.es/en/productseeds/faraona

I would say that it's an indica-dom plant (it's only been in veg for a month). I can say that of the four strains I have going at the moment, the Faraona is the fastest growing plant thus far. I haven't had a dud from Kannabia yet and have been growing this breeder's seeds since last August.
